Pros

Really talented coworkers, immediate respect in the industry, solutions that are leading edge, admin support is all self service via company systems

Cons

Salary is slightly below industry, you're on the bench - you're gone, HR is slow

    I have been working at Oracle full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    The Oracle name carries a lot of weight and can be a great help in securing business and showing your expertise at the highest levels. The possibilities for growth and advancement in your area of expertise or with new products is outstanding.

    Cons

    As with any large company there is a lot of process and documentation to be completed to move things forward. It can be a bit daunting. As an employee who came in via acquisition I think it was even harder to grasp.

    I worked at Oracle full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Much freedom in approach to customers and to structure the own work. Working from often home possible if ok with Manager, even if no official home office worker. Good if you do your numbers.
    Often easy to approach customers, cause most of IT staff know Oracle very well. Whole areas at many customers are dedicatedly working with Oracle software.

    Cons

    Lots of reports on numbers details doing for management. Often ad-hoc requests for detailed figures etc by manager, cause he needs to report this to his manager very fast.
    Salary: For most people who started at Oracle Germany in telesales, the salary does not appropriately rise even after they moved on to more senior field sales positions. This is why many such staff stay in Oracle field sales for around 1-3 years and then move to other companies to realize strong salary growth. Some come later back to Oracle and then even get additional salary growth on top of that. So Oracle would be wise to pay appropriate salaries to such staff, to avoid losing staff who know all about Oracle and are in a age where they are wiling to really work hard in order to make a career.
