I have been working at Parsons Brinckerhoff full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

There is a strong sense of community among colleagues and the culture is more open than many corporate environments. Compensation is competitive.

Cons

The organzation is top heavy with senior staff, despite a push to engage and hire recent graduates or young professionals.

I worked at Parsons Brinckerhoff full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great people to work with. Employee orientated company. Maybe a little too much.

    Cons

Silo mentality & empire building in a number of areas.
PB / BB is good at communicating the "company strategy" internally, but very poor at inter-business unit, & inter-project internal communication. A bit of a 'need to know' basis.
New GM who outwardly seems to have no idea about how to drive the business.
The recent Australian redundancies don't seem to align with the overall business strategy.
Example: The business wants to move into EPCM & higher risk projects, but the entire estimating team has been made redundant. ?
Enormous focus on billability has surpassed all other aspects of the business, including client needs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better client focus. Better project mgmt.
Focus on the client needs right from the start & manage the project accordingly, good billabilty will come naturally.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
