Pros

Working for the Peace Corps gives you the opportunity to gain valuable experience working internationally as well as proficiency in another language. The flexibility in working hours and ability to determine the focus of my work were major benefits. The job also gives you a sense of contributing to society.

Cons

After gaining perspective from two years of working and living in another country, the value of individual projects may seem diminished in the context of the developmental progress of the country as a whole. There was frustration over the instability of job and projects

    Pros

Diversity. You get to meet people from all across the united states. This makes the work place such an enjoyable place. Opportunities for international travel to field offices is also a benefit of working at Peace Corps.

    Cons

Some people are lazy, especially in the field offices. They give the peace corps such a bad name. The organisation should filter out volunteers without a strong sense of purpose. This will improve the image of the organisation

    Pros

Great benefits, ability to work remotely, good location, special federal hiring status after 3 years of employment, great mission, fun Peace Corps Third Goal activities throughout year.

    Cons

Five-year rule causes too much turn over, you need to be looking for a new job when you walk in the door. No diversity in experience or skills, no child care.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the five year rule and just make everyone up for reappointment every 5 years. Clear out the old be keep the good.
