It was miserable, the management is clueless, and hostile.

Current Employee - Account Executive in Las Vegas, NV (US)

I have been working at Pitney Bowes full-time (less than an year)

Pros

The benefits are nice, affordable.

Cons

The management needs to be replaced they do not know what they are doing. They promise you the world, then do not deliver. People are mailing less and less each year, therefore their products are difficult to sell, and the economy is not great either.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please review the current management in place and replace them with people who are trained in management, who are compassionate, and understanding.

Former Employee - Territory Account Manager- FULL LINE in Vancouver, BC (Canada)

I worked at Pitney Bowes full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

High level of responsibility and accountability extended. Technical training was solid via manufacturer.

    Cons

Lack of proper managerial support and understanding for a remote office which covered a geographical area the size of France. Service techs were scattered by customer demand and not current; scrambling to catch up with technology. No balance of information for prospective and current customers between the new devices and the old equipment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring in new blood to marketing and management that are NOT previously from the competition that went belly up and weren't leaders in the first place. Listen to your remote area field sales teams and don't give the customer over to telemarketing ;-(

Former Employee - Advisory Software Engineer in Lanham, MD (US)

I worked at Pitney Bowes full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The actual people that you work with are good people and the first line managers are fair.

    Cons

Everything a public company does is tied to it's stock price. Pitney's stock has not been performing and that in turn means that they have to squeeze their employees to maintain the executive benefits. This translated into no pay increases for 3 years and when they did give pay increases they were near 2%. There was a constant shortage of workers and abundance of work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If your going to make the employees make sacrifices, everyone at the top should as well.
