Although I had good times there and learned a lot, they treat people horribly and have too many useless managers.

    Pros

Intro to a lot of different technologies, good when you are right out of college

    Cons

Your co-workers who do not know how to do their job are the ones who become managers and of course, they can't manage you well and it becomes miserable until you transfer to a new group and do the same thing all over again.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please try to CARE more about the people who are doing all of the hard work, and if they go to you about the product being improved upon, stop saying it will take time and money, it is worth it to become a better product! News flash, I know.

    Pros

Great compensation and benefits, friendly people to work with most of the time, generally a positive environment.

    Cons

In the IIS division, the company doesn't sell products or solutions to the government. The reality is that it sells man-hours, which means that it doesn't matter a whole lot whether or not you do a good job at what you do. This is a problem with most large government contractors who build software, not just Raytheon, however. Way too much middle management with no technical experience who end up making technical decisions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to change the entire focus of the IIS division from selling as many man-hours as possible to selling quality products and solutions instead. We need to take some cues from smaller, higher-quality companies like Palantir.
