I worked at Starbucks full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Teamwork within the finance team was very cohesive and co-workers were very supportive and smart; fast-paced environment with changing priorities (good and bad); good work-life balance

    Cons

While the overall function is large and there are opportunities for advancement/movement, career development is still very much on the individual and therefore networking is essential.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be open to identifying more rotational opportunities at all levels

I worked at Starbucks full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great infrastructure combined with a medium level of market ownership made management relatively enjoyable for the first few years. The best part of the job was the sense of community with fellow partners.

    Cons

Work-life balance was a challenge to maintain, and once at the Store Manager level, opportunities for advancement pretty much disappear.
