Not a bad company to work for. Probably the best company to learn mutual fund.

Senior Accountant (Former Employee) Princeton, NJ (US)

ProsGood colleagues, reasonably good benefits, very friendly work atmosphere. A very good place to learn all the basics of mutual fund accounting.

ConsVery tight work schedules. Salary on the low side. Closure of business and layoff several hundred accountants when company is very profitable.

Advice to Senior ManagementAverage management only knows layoff employees during bad times. Great management can turn redundant employees into an asset, not a liability.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Can I please have those 3 years of my life back

Mutual Fund Accountant (Former Employee) Boston, MA (US)

I worked at State Street full-time for more than 3 years

Pros: Entry level position of a mutual fund accountant is fairly easy… Cons: It is completely luck whether you get a disgruntled manager or not. I have had 3 different ones within the company and only 1 was… Advice to Senior Management: Do not pretend to be a manager until you know how… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More

Good place to gain experience or retire!

Business Analyst (Former Employee) Irvine, CA (US)

I worked at State Street full-time for more than 8 years

Pros: Good entry level place to get experience. Good place to retire… Cons: Salary increases are pathetic. No opportunities for growth. Management is always looking to give you a rating of 3 or less so they can avoid… Advice to Senior Management: How's outsourcing to India going? Guess you got your fat… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
