I worked at Syntel full-time for more than a year

Pros

Freshers place, less talented managers :)

Cons

No ethics, No Professionalism, No work-life balance, No competitive pay, No employee satisfaction, No Green card processing, Horrible support teams especially HR team, ODC(Visa processing team) these guys won't listen to CEO as well :).
Managers are not really professional managers, you can became manager if you are with this company for 6 years(You don't need any skills), 80% managers don't know what is managing people. No recognition, Full of politics, Favoritism and no respect to talent. Managers expect you as their dog.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you don't know how to recognize and retain talent learn from other competitors, if you don't think about employee satisfaction you forget about 2 billion target. Clock stops ticking.. straighten support groups first otherwise you will continue to loose talent.

I worked at Syntel full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

It was once a great company for freshers. Most of us got great exposure & growth who joined in 2005-06. Used to get good onsite for long time. Pay well for laterals - esp managers.

    Cons

Looks to be sluggish now. Chennai campus is one of my worst experience with high power bossy attitude from senior team. Will make you wait for at least 6-8 months on fresher recruitment.
Lack of vision. Managers are more of resource managers than project or program.
Will think twice to pick challenging opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Transparency towards lower level can be made better. High fluctuating resource management can be reduced..

    Pros

Salary is good. and if you are in the right project and you are a good resource then there are a lots of chances for onsite.

    Cons

As a fresher, if you wont get a chance to work in a client project at the starting then your career will not be in a good shape..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Can improve a lot in resource management.
