I worked at The Body Shop full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It was fun but they don't do a lot to set themselves a part from Bath & Body Works. So they a little unknown to customers. District Manager was fantastic and was never too good to pitch in and do what she could to help out in any of her stores.

    Cons

Upper management was a waste. They went through so many regionals and people in corporate they were not well ran in terms of a specific company structure with people that had stayed and made a career for themselves with the company. When I was there they had no president, it was ran by a Vice president.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be a part of the company your running. Show that you care about what your doing like Anita did when she started it!

I have been working at The Body Shop part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Fun store, very laid back, products are good quality and sell themselves . Everyone i work with is very nice and its a non-competitive atmosphere. Management is understanding and friendly and look forward to working with my bosses. Our district manager is very nice as well and is fun to have visit.

    Cons

Their standards and approach to customer service is sub-par. They expect you to practically hound a customer who might be "Just looking" and they tend to walk out when try to "connect" with them. Being forced to sell the cards is another thing, a lot of people don't want to pay for a rewards program.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe dial down a little on how hard you want you associates to press on a customer. Building a basket is one thing, but don't overwhelm someone.
