I have been working at Towers Watson full-time (less than an year)

Pros

People are polite and you can work from home. That is about the extent of it.

Cons

This company is so archaic, it is frightening. And they believe they are "in touch" with the world as it is today. Guess again.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Move to the future, take a stand and set some clear direction.

    Pros

Flexible environment, smart people to work with. Generally provides for good career opportunity if you are self-driven, speak up and network. Provides for mobility opportunities as well (but you need to be proactive about it).

    Cons

Culture change since merger. Has lessened flexibility around being autonomous in decision making. Managers are not alwasy appropriately trained to take on leadership roles and as such, large differences exist between treatment of people across groups.

My time at Towers Watson was underwhelming and generally unsatisfactory.

I worked at Towers Watson as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The people were very nice and accommodating. The company is well organized given the recent merge between Towers Perrin and Watson Wyatt.

    Cons

People weren't very competitive. The culture wasn't as aggressive and geared towards high-performance as I'd like.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management ought to formalize its hierarchy more so that assignments are clear and consistent. A more formalized training program also would be helpful and might lead the more senior people to delegate work more efficiently than they currently are.
