I have been working at UBS full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

I have found the environment to be meritorious for good people with good ideas. It is easy to look good if you want to improve things, given the large amounts of inefficient processes that need to be addressed.

The issues with the financial markets have made the company focus on promoting internally people that are looking to construct a better business.

Cons

One has to accept that there are poor processes in these businesses with many legacy systems, so you have to be able to come to negotiate some parts of the organisation that lack efficiency.

UBS IB has gone to hell in a handbasket and now sucks as much as it's possible to.

I worked at UBS full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Virtually none any more, the place isn't what it was.

    Cons

The investment bank is going down the tubes, thousands of people are losing their jobs. Meanwhile, those who are left have to work extra hard with poorly funded, planned and maintained systems.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Finish your plan to shut down the investment bank and concentrate on what you're good at.

I have been working at UBS full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

good compensation when you start (including life insurance, pension, etc)

    Cons

After a few years at UBS, you realise how it's all about politics and people only care about saving themselves. expect to get blamed by everything, even worse when its out of your competence/skillset and team.
very bad handling contractors (force them to take leave then fire them while they are on leave, etc)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Positive feedback/motivation would be a good thing.

    Neutral Outlook
