I worked at US National Guard as a contractor for more than 5 years

Pros

Instills discipline, encourages people to be responsible and orderly, required time is only 1 weekend a month plus a 2 week period per year

Cons

Low pay, many different bosses, generally any promotion is just a handout to relieve a superior of some of his/her duties while retaining the same amount of bosses/masters as you previously had.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop treating volunteers like slaves.

You have to give up a significant part of your life pre and post graduation. It can be a bear on relationships.
