Current Employee – been working at United Technologies full-time for more than 7 years

Pros – Larger company.
Diverse portfolio of business.
Interesting product lines and child companies.
Potential for living in numerous locations if an employee wants to transfer jobs.

Cons – Larger company.
Six Sigma focus is not useful.
Compensation is average, and should be better.
Command and Control.
Discontinuity in IT systems.

Advice to Senior Management – Reevaluate ACE, and the relentless jamming-down-our-throats of it. We think a good majority of it is waste.
Provide monies for a serious upgrade to the facility.
Mutual Trust and Respect was a hallmark of Goodrich Corp. Practice it.
ACE is, overall, a good thing, yet its statistically-based focus is NOT lean or Lean Manufacturing. Goodrich Corp walked Lean a looong time, and was, overall, a pretty Lean company. ACE is muddling things.
Adopt a more employee-centric vacation policy which allows yearly carry-over.
CSC hasn't proven to be of benefit to our IT systems. Jury's still out I guess.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
