I worked at University of Southern California as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

The place is great if you manage to get in on a permanent contract. Flexible work hours, friendly people, great opportunity to learn, self pace,

    Cons

Downside is that very often these are temporary positions outsourced to staff agencies. That means that the agency is taking a big portion of your money.
