Had it's pros and cons

I worked at Exxon Mobil

ProsOffered a great training budget which a lot employees didn't seem to take advantage of.

ConsVery difficult to work your way up without a degree. You either had to be willing to wait until you had 10 years experience with them or leave (both real outcomes).

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus more on ability and delivery versus credentials alone.

ConsI find it very hard to point out serious cons with working for Exxon Mobil. I know it is not a place for lazy people.

Great people, limited progression

ProsGreat people, great mix of cultures and ages.
Good salary for the work being done
Good opportunities to progress if in the right place with the right skills

ConsLimited progression once you have moved up the first couple of steps
Very limited opportunities to move on from the Manchester office

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more open with the employees about what is going on and listen to feedback rather than just asking for it for lipservice.

The work culture is really great

ProsThe work and experience is the greatest as the job scope revolves around working with the different departments and thus gaining a lot of knowledge.

ConsThe work place is at Jurong Island. though the transport facilities is provided by the company, the buses and the interchange is often a tough job.
