    Pros

Great opportunities if you look for them. There are some young, passionate employees as well as many brilliant engineers. You can seek out these people.

    Cons

Lots of the agency's upper level employees are old and couldn't care less about what they are doing. These people tend to drag the others down.

    Pros

Feds may love you, but if your supervisor, a former Fed who was fired and now works for a contracting company doesn't like you... They will end your career path.

    Cons

Just the Contracting companies! These jobs are being performed on behalf of the US Government, employees should all be Feds.
Did you know they don't drug test contractors? Lot's of people out there should be tested!

    Pros

Easy work physically, but requires you to think. Work with great people. Management is great

    Cons

Rotating shifts, high cost of living in Bay Area. Commute times are horrible.

    Pros

Good benefits, decent pay, but mostly a challenging and rewarding career.

    Cons

The FAA is a huge old school bureaucracy full of nepotism, where no one in upper management is held accountable for anything. So every decision the FAA makes defies logic and goes against common sense. "This makes absolutely no sense but hey, it's the FAA" is a common sentiment shared by all FAA employees.

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting your golf buddies and learn some accountability.
