Poor Management at the top across all functions

Senior Program Manager (Former Employee)
Bukit Mertajam (Malaysia)

I worked at Flextronics full-time for more than 5 years

ProsThis would be a good learning ground for fresh graduates or those with less than 5 years experience.

ConsNot a place for a career. Poor senior executives from Directors to Sr VPs. Most of the senior folks have poor knowledge or experience running their functions/operations in Asia. They think what works in one part of the world will work in Asia as well. All they do is talk without knowing the root cause. They do best in escalating a problem instead of solving it.

Advice to Senior ManagementChange the whole management team. Too many Directors, Snr Directors and VPs. Everybody wants to run the show when a new site is up or acquired. As the saying goes "too many cooks spoil the soup".

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Dream job for the people who wish to learn, develop their carrier in manufacturing industry

Manager (Current Employee)

I have been working at Flextronics full-time for more than 10 years

ProsA real chance for growth, development

ConsTalent rewiev process is only on the paper, no promotion.
For vacancies, they (mgmt) bring people from outside instead of being promoted from the inside, people who have trained for years for that position. Shouldn't be this way.

Advice to Senior ManagementLook inside first, listen to people, the solution is, most of the time, next to you, in front of you.
