    I worked at Flextronics

    Pros

Flextronics is a great company to work for. They have a very good management staff. The benefits are great for regular employees. High tech manufacturing is challenging and interesting.

    Cons

Most employees start out as contract employees. It usually takes a year or more to become a regular employee. Layoffs are common.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better strategic planning will result in fewer layoffs.

I worked at Flextronics full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great hours and lots of learning. Big company with good benefits. Plenty of opportunity if willing to re-locate. No vacation black out dates.

    Cons

Pay for managers not the best. In Florida is starts off at $38k per year with possibility of bonuses that you don't have full control of getting. Very unorganized and always having to complete tasks at the last minute because upper management waits too long to filter down information.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to get more organized and understand exactly what someone in the DSC has to deal with on a day to day basis.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

My job working for Flextronics as an At&t phone tech

I have been working at Flextronics full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The company had great benefits and you always got your 40 hours per week.
I got to work and learn about all different types of phones.

    Cons

The company would change the rules very often and sometimes not inform you.
Also the company had an open door policy but if you used it you would get talked to about doing that not really an open door policy

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees like people and not just like and number.
Also take the time to listen to them instead of them telling them that you are wrong and they are right.

I worked at Flextronics full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Negotiate a good salary up front because you will never get any more.
There are good, smart people there at the working level.

    Cons

Upper management down to mid management have no idea how to move thru a project and get anything done. They will not listen to those on the ground in the trenches. Executives overseas are clueless as to how to run the business in the States.
NO work life balance at all. You work, that's your life. Holidays, sickness, doesn't matter. The only time you will get off without having an argument is if a close relative dies! Seriously.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You cannot run the American side of the company the way you run the Asian side. It doesn't work.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
