    Pros

Global company that puts many employees into daily interaction with other employees around the world. As a family controlled company, there is a very strong sense of community/family around the world.

    Cons

Working global is harder due to time zones and differing cultural norms. In general, high expectations for commitment and effort are not for everyone.

    Advice to Management

Continue to push hard on "One Ford" as this is a key strategy. The other key strategy is Innovation, which is essential for success in the next century of the company.

    Pros

The best paying manufacturing company by a million miles. No other manufacturing company pays better than Ford and are a big player in the South Wales area.

    Cons

Continental shifts do restrict your homelife plans. Still, with shift allowance and basic salary you can earn £62.5k p.a. and that is absolutely fantastic when compared to UK manufacturing salaries for a similar role.

    Advice to Management

Secure the Dragon Engine from 2018 and ensure that the Bridgend engine plant remains as one of the best in the Uk and across Europe and the rest of the world/

    Pros

I started in September 1994 and although ford have closed departments down such as the parts assembly and the press shop, every effort has been made to accommodate anybody wishing to remain with the company, including training or re-skilling to ease the transition.
Ford has never made compulsory redundancies, but makes redundancy/retirement packages far greater than legally required to do which means at the time you part the company you can expect to be able to live comfortable in your retirement. The factory has a friendly atmosphere and there are plenty of opportunities for growth in all departments. The rate of pay is far better than most companies within the area and there is overtime to make a little extra. Employee discount on cars and from local retailers and membership to a sports and social club with a monthly lottery to win a car or money.

    Cons

The company struggles to standardise procedures across all plants and departments and in some cases has a very outdated work ethic and still has far to much paperwork that could be done on a computer instead of printing it all out.
Lots of areas that used to be undertaken by ford have been tendered out to contractors.

    Advice to Management

When important visitors come to the factory the place gets a face lift and is cleaned thoroughly, this should be the case all of the time. more should be done to recognise employees efforts, light levels within some parts of the factory could do with improvement. Key parts of the plant require more investment to bring them up to scratch, this would also improve efficiency in these areas. we still rely heavily on outdated software within the factory that has been adapted for use that still creates problems.

    Pros

The office culture is pretty nice. Everyone generally seems to be cheerful and good with top notch banter! I like the fact that it can be busy but also has periods when there is not much to do. Also, you do feel like a part of something bigger - well at least in my case!

    Cons

Does get boring sometimes due to lack of work, or the work may get repetitive sometimes.

    Pros

Great work life balance - productive without pressure to be at your desk 24/7
Lots of opportunity if you want to progress
    Strong ethics and values
People are committed to the product they're producing

    Cons

Big corporate culture creates a very slow moving pace of development
Pension scheme/salary obviously much worse for new hires than long time employees

    Advice to Management

Empower your lower-level employees/managers to make decisions, trivial issues are brought up to senior levels while much bigger decisions are made by normal employees as they have technical knowledge
