I worked at Forest Labs full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great place to build a career. Forest has always had a strong vision in a very competitive industry and was a great place to work for many years. They emphasized training and an entrepreneurial approach to sales.

    Cons

In the end they became a bit resistant to change and adapt to the market. With the new CEO and merger this only got worse.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a very honest look at the changes in the healthcare market and how to best sell in those markets that have been most effected. The old-school "reach and frequency" model of selling will not work in every market.

I have been working at Forest Labs full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Free Car, Free Gas, Time off is a great perk

    Cons

If your team doesnt go to work then you suffer, a bad team mate is like a bad lover, nothing ever gets accomplished.
You become a delivery guy to the staff... all they want is food and coffee.. and they arent even the ones writting your products. For men suit and tie in the blistering Fl heat is no bueno.. They monitor your calls, and make sure that you hit a quota.. Job security is never a given, you dont know if today or tomorrow will be your last.. thats how they keep pushing you, to keep you job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Discipline the team members that arent working, not the team.
Make sure you have everyone on the same page. reguardless of thier tenure with the company, a rookie is just as valuable as a vet, when it comes to new targets and old ones..

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Good company to get some experience in Pharma. Lots of active products with big pipeline and lots of open positions.

    Cons

Pod system of lots of reps in small territories overlapping on 1-4 products, not very many qualified partners. 5-6 products in your bag. Low base salary.

    I worked at Forest Labs

    Pros

Great management that was fair and skilled at employee development. Talented reps and healthy culture.

    Cons

Probably industry wide. Admins run company and many decisions without any clue about what is happening in the field. Bad targets, poor reporting. Etc...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great job to all the DMs, RDs, and trainers. Way up the ladder maybe you all need to trust those employees.

    Pros
