    Pros

    An amazing group of talented and knowledgeable professionals that really embrace collaboration on a global scale. People really do respect their coworkers here. Individuals and teams definitely get recognized for their contributions to the company. Also, over the past few years, the Global Day of Service, which the company coordinates with all employees across the globe, enables and encourages employees to give back to the communities and organizations in their areas. It's a truly awesome endeavor!

    Cons

    While the company is transitioning more a cloud service provider from a product organization, there is visible change that has occurred over the past year and a half. I can understand people feeling uncertain about the business environment, so it takes a certain mindset to focus on the company's goals and take the changes as they come in stride.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to develop the leadership skills of managers, and in effect, be open to employee feedback.

    Pros

    Good benefits and vacation policies. Some very nice people. Flexible work schedule.

    Cons

    People are leaving in droves. Many long time senior management folks are leaving which is very concerning. If you are considering working here I would think long and hard about it. No leadership.

    If something isn't done soon there won't be a company left to worry about.

    Pros

    Company provides a decent work environment considering it's not a very large company.

    Cons

    The number of employees keeps dwindling which means those left behind take on more work.

    Pros

    If you need a job badly go for it, but don't plan on staying more than 3 years without going mad. They tend to pay reasonable well for the work you actually do and there is little risk they will "go out of business."

    Cons

    Company is filled with mixture of aging Nortel employees (often with 10+ years with company) who simply are unemployable elsewhere, they complain about change and long for the good ole days. Mixed in is sea of new management who rotate in, bring in their folks, make a lot of noise, deliver little and exit while professing great success. This is an overdue private equity investment and the pressure on the CEO to find an exit is at maximum.

    Advice to Management

    I feel their pain. Re-starting a dead technology company is hard (just look at Avaya & Siemens/Unify) even competitors with better technology Sonus/MetaSwitch aren't having the best of fun. Simply put - voice communications has changed and relative value is low and thus market opportunity equally low. Playing CEO for a day, I couldn't figure a path out of the maze and hence why I left. I'm sure there is an exit but the road will undoubtedly be bumpy.

    Pros

    The work environment is great. The people are great. There are a lot of opportunities to get involved in the community and chances to get to know coworkers. Great family friendly environment.

    Cons

    It is hard to move up or around the Company at this time. I think they are working on creating work rotations from within but right now the turnover is higher than it needs to be do to the Company not giving opportunities for growth and advancement.

    Advice to Management

    Create better career paths. Need more internal job postings to allow smart and hard working individuals the opportunity for growth and advancement. You will have a more knowledgeable and committed workforce.

    Pros

    Remote employment accepted and global team with many international teams. Some of the new employees are good apart from the inherited nortel team.

    Cons

    Bully-style management across the board. Executive management team members don't respect one another and this causes lack of company direction and products are outdated and only hanging on to maintenance deals. Acquiring companies with outdated technology and merging it all isn't working.

    Advice to Management

    Figure out how to form a team that respects one another and employees. Stop throwing away money on executive expenses and unsuccessful marketing.
