    Pros

Gardner Denver has a good culture that fosters a team work environment. Management tends to stay off your back if you're getting you're work done. I haven't been micromanaged and receive good feed back on what I'm doing right and what I can get better at. The work life balance is the best I've seen compared to other places I've worked and am aware of through friends and family. The company provides ample vacation days as well as holidays.

    Cons

Pay isn't bad, but I know they could do better. There are only a few communication gaps in operations, but the good news is I see ,and am a part of, these gaps closing.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

    Pros

A great place to get to know the oil and gas industry. If you work hard and get along with management, you will have a successful career.

    Cons

You are in a market that has ups and downs. This could create stress in a person who does not deal with change easily.

    Advice to Management

Keep hiring the employees that are positive and willing to go the extra mile.

    Pros

Friendly office culture, opportunity for advancement, feels like your voice matters, job security.

    Cons

Job duties can be unclear, "need it yesterday" mentality, tense relationships blue and white collar employees.

    Advice to Management

When there aren't extremely urgent matters that need to be resolved, pass down innovative ideas of how to improve the product.

    Pros

It was nice place to work

    Cons

Worked there 1 year, got axed even though there were 25 people hired after me. People were being trained for my position, and then I was told my position was being eliminated. I believe I was a threat to the manager above me. No respect for loyalty, hard work or quality. Was told it was not a layoff because we don't have a call back. No seniority !!!

    Advice to Management

Hire more skilled managers. The unskilled ones who deem good knowledgeable workers as a threat only cost the company money and time. The example of me being axed will send fear into other employees in the shop killing all loyalty and possibly production. All employees like a little security. This action sends the message no one is safe.

  6. Within the last couple years it has turned into a very narrowminded company.

    Pros

Most of the time pays well

    Cons

They do not treat their employees like human beings. The HR department is severely lacking in common sense. They have a lot of turnover since they moved to Bentleyville.

    Advice to Management

treat your employees like humans not like working mules

    Pros

Global reach, industry leader, great mission statement

    Cons

Corporate culture is a "good old boy" network. Extremely top-down flow of information. Disregard for the needs of workers is endemic to the corporation.

    Advice to Management

Allow information to flow freely in all directions - up, down, and laterally. This will spark innovation and reduce talent loss.
