    Pros

Good working conditions. Rewarded for hard work.

    Cons

There are no cons that I can think of. Job security because they like other companies moved some of production overseas.

    Pros

    Family owned.
Been a part of the Community for over 100 years. The shop that I work in has been a part of the community for over 37 years. I get to meet new people every day and they are some of the best people you would ever be blessed to meet

    Cons

    No structure.
The company I work for is a very good company so I don't want you to take these cons as a reason not to come there. The owner is an extremely busy lady but she tries to be a part of the company way too much

Current Employee - Cure Tech I & II in Lawton, OK (US)

I have been working at Goodyear full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great money once you hit full pay. When I started it took 1 year. But then it went to 30 months. They match what you put into 401k. Making that much money, its easy to get the best medical plan and other things that they provide. 7 day breaks once a month.

    Cons

Jobs are touch. I ran 17-2000 row. Anyone who knows the plant knows its hard work. But the money is worth it, if you can hang in there long enough to get it. Long hours. Depending on your job, you become so tired at work, that your days off, you sometimes just want to sleep.

I worked at Goodyear as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The people are very friendly, down-to-earth, and helpful, especially as there is a lot of on-the-job learning. It's a good place/position for an engineering student seeking industrial experience.

    Cons

It can be a dirty, fast-pace, and stressful environment in the manufacturing plant. Sometimes, a lot of things can go wrong, which delays any forward progress or experimentation engineers are seeking to achieve.

    Pros

The store is backed by the name Goodyear

    Cons

Owner operator has no clue. Has sold and closed 4 stores in the past 2 years

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Close your final store and make room for real repair shops. As a shop owner you have to keep the stores best interest in mind not personal relationships

Former Employee - Human Resources Project Manager in Akron, OH (US)

I worked at Goodyear full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

There are positive learning experiences to be had at Goodyear. People are generally friendly and willing to help, especially at the plants.

    Cons

Office politics are hard to avoid. Lots of good leaders leaving because of the caustic culture. Sometimes decisions made are only those that look good, but are not necessarily good for the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work to reduce the politics of the company. Work to flatten the structure of the company.

I worked at Goodyear full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Big company, benefits. Decent training and great future outlook as a company

    Cons

Employees are suffering. No work life balance. People feel trapped as they have no where else to go. 10-12 hour work days with a 30 min in house lunch hour with no internal cafeteria . Horrible work environment with the labor union literally holding management hostage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People first, they are your assets. There is a reason behind the exodus of people leaving the company.
