    Cons

make more things for casual because even if they are not working a lot they need to learn and make a good wprk when they have shifts so only on the job training could be hepful and interesting

    Pros

Good working environment and friendly employees. The company provides a very clear career path for employees to seek for their future in the hotel.

    Cons

The standing culture is too strong in the hotel. Employees are required to stand for their whole working hour, driving employees tired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a better training program for employees and reduce the number of temporary employees. Employee benefit should be increased to better motivate employees.

    Pros

Starting pay is great. Benefits are great and the people are wonderful. You can get promoted within, they offer a training program for those who received their Bachelors so they can become managers at other locations.

    Cons

Depending on where you are at. There are some young folks that try to get thier ways in moving up when they don't deserve it. Managers should keep an eye out on an ongoing basis with the staff to ensure that all of them are working hard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep an eye out on those who are hard-workers and that deserve promotions rather than those who get promoted and don't deserve it.

    Pros

For the majority of the many years (10+) I spent working for Hyatt I loved the company, the people I worked with and for, the team enviornment and the focus on community. For mid to upper management positions, Hyatt agressively promoted from within and had wonderful training opportunities. Salary was in line with other hotel companies for management positions and the benefit package was competitive.

    Cons

Going public changed the company as did economic challenges in 2008 and beyond. I think a lot of decisions were made by GM's and Regional teams that were not in line with the culture that I had grown up with. The focus was revenue generation and cost cutting over all else I believe a company needs to be profitable but there were decisions made that crossed lines and effected the company in troubling ways for many years. When I left there seemed to be an "old boys club" atmosphere that was out of touch and often times offensive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When managers leave Hyatt for other companies or industries, especially leadership committee members, I think it would be a good idea to have someone from Corporate HR do an exit interview to better understand what is occuring in the field.
