I have been working at ICICI Bank

    Pros

Great work atmosphere with smaller teams compared to other banks. You get to know how all the desks perform. The UK office as started recently so you can be part of a team which is still budding. The company provides lot of training programs for the advancement and growth of the employee. They also give lot of responsibility in the initial phase of your career. The senior management keeps all the employees informed about the company strategy and how it is performing. This creates trust and assurance for the employees. The working hours are not very hectic and you can have a good life.

    Cons

The products are not that complex, so the value add in terms of product knowledge may not be great. The staff is predominantly Indian which can be a problem for the people from other nationalities. The compensation is on the lower side of the industry average. The bank mainly concentrated in India, is smaller in other parts of the world. So it is not such a big player in UK and may not drive the market. The feedback process is not that well structured as in other international banks. It is done only on a yearly basis which is very bad.

    Pros

competitive, great learning opportunities, well known brand name and one of the top private banks in India.

    Cons

low work/life balance, low scope to develop innovative ideas or thinking, less flexibility in choosing desired functional areas of work and unrealistic target expectations without providing proper tools and pathway for achieving those targets.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't just talk about the concepts and theories of HRM across the organisation, try implementing it as well.

    Cons

Probably , by virtue of its legacy has not been able to shake of from its Sarkari way of handling clients , people and careers.

I worked at ICICI Bank (more than a year)

    Pros

A good place to learn and develop yourself as a new graduate.

    Cons

Politics determine raises and bonuses. If upper management likes you and you play the game, you can get very far. Sometimes the less deserving get raises and higher bonuses. Compensation and benefits need to be better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop with the politics and promote people based on merit!
