    Pros

Good training, Excellent Infrastructure and Resources, Nice Peers

    Cons

Bad Management and Directorship. Unrealistic Targets, No buzz on the trading floor

    Advice to Management

Don't reward over achievers by inflating their targets, as this is counter productive.

    Pros

I've worked here for 3 years now and it's changed so much. We've gone from having very little strategy and some questionable senior team members to a really clear vision and collaborative and approachable leadership.
As well as the usual benefits that most companies offer we can purchase holidays, get given time off for birthdays, get paid to volunteer in the community and loads more.
They listen to feedback in the surveys we get and they actually change things to make us happy!

    Cons

Our new building is nice but the air con is too cold!

  3. Helpful (3)

Avoid. You will be left to sink or swim and success is not aided by the compay.

    Pros

Had a few laughs with people. Made some good money before the reduced the commission plans twice.

    Cons

Gong in circles for years. Lack of progress and vision. Huge turnover. Somedays its like a bloodbath of people being fired, replaced by new ones and only to then watching them get fired. The old timers cling on because they have accumulated a good business from the leavings of others. Low morale ad everyone constantly complaining. Have seen the commission plan reduced twice by management who cannot add value just cut costs. Bullying and incompetace is rife.

    Advice to Management

You're in over you're head and its costing others. Do the decent thing and leave. Cutting costs does not equate to growth.

Good benefits and collaborative culture. Fun team environment.

    Pros

Empowered to make a difference. Excellent pay structure. New president EMEA is a welcomed breath of fresh air. Dress down culture.

    Cons

Increase in role development would be welcomed. Structured development plan needed

    Advice to Management

Keep on track with North Star plan. Work of genius that will transform the company to a true solution provider.

    Pros

Predictable and uncomplicated job. Company pays and rewards (financially) for success. Some reasonable company benefits. Low intellect required for competence

    Cons

Very political. Its like working for a medieval court. Only the "liked" progress irrespective of achievements and performance.

    Advice to Management

Don't be scared to promote your genuine talent in front of your mates.

  8. Insight had its problems like everywhere, but i was impressed with the way in which most were dealt in.

    Pros

I particularly liked the friendly atmosphere, and the career planning. They also stuck to team meetings where you could bring up issues/ concerns.

The regular personal one to one chats with team leaders was also very useful in gaining constructive feedback.

    Cons

Bank holidays had to be worked due to it being an international company.
There wasn't a plan in place when i got there to be able to earn a bonus.

    Advice to Management

Keep up regular meetings take on board feedback.

    Pros

Not a lot of pros with this company. There maybe opportunities for advancement and a raise, but it depends on who you know, not what you know.

    Cons

A lot of cons, which explains the reason for such a high staff turnover. Bullying is the worst con in this organization; the problem is prevalent throughout all departments. The management are short-sighted and arrogant, from the team leaders all the way up to the senior vice-presidents.
Customer and vendor complaints are frequent, and much of the incompetence in the company is due to poor management decisions that lead to staff lay-offs at the end of every financial quarter.

    Advice to Management

    Resign.

    Pros

    Wonderful people (non management)
compensation plan was ok got worse over the years
    Very good tech team

    Cons

    micro management
    lack of training
    HR policies are very questionable
    Core values are not followed

    Advice to Management

The company seriously needs to look after their employees, after 10 years at Insight i was dismissed because they found a loop hole in the HR policies. If a manager doesnt like you then they will find anything to pin on you to get you out of the business. Quote from a director "if we want someone out we will get them out" clearly worked in my case. I think the SLT need to look a little deeper into the business and realise the reps are the ones keeping the business afloat.

    Pros

Training around sales and that is the ONLY positive thing.

    Cons

Poor management with no direction what so ever. They keep handing out promo leaflets to call from. One day you are calling to sell HP printer and tell the client why HP is better than other, the next day you have to call the same client again and sell Epson or Dell and advise that why it is better than others.

They have hard time paying commission to their sales guys. You dont get any support from management. Within the last 2 years (2012-2014), more than 100 people have resigned due to poor management from their UK office. They micro-manage and do not let you sell your own way. You know your clients better, but they treat you like a kid.

If you pickup recent data about the growth of tech companies, Insight graph is going down. Its a shame to see a good company being mis-managed. They have let very good people go and have changed their way of operation from solution selling to call centre.

    Advice to Management

You need to treat adults like adults. You can guide them, but do not push them towards what your vendors want to sell
