Worst company I have EVER worked for

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Marlow, England

I have been working at Ixia

ProsPension is good.
Pay can be good if you negotiate well in the beginning but don't expect pay rises

ConsBullying, dishonest management always looking to screw the employee. only route to progression is through brown nosing and stabbing colleagues in the back. Very long hours for no reward. Unachievable targets set to reduce commission payouts. Did I mention the Bullying
If you manage to negotiate a good wage when you get the job that will be held against you, don't expect pay rises and you will always feel like you living with the sword of Damocles over your head.
Management by fear approach by the VP of Sales, supported by the senior US management as well as the UK Sales manager. Managers aren't managers they are yes men, thugs and henchmen for the VP of Sales. A Truly Toxic and Hostile environment to work in.

Advice to Senior ManagementValue you your people they will work better for you if you respect them and stop the bulling. Your staff is demoralized, demotivated and desperate. Ixia's core values should apply to the Senior management MORE than to the employees, lead by example, be fair and decent.

RSM - EMEA

RSM (Former Employee)
Emea (Indonesia)

I worked at Ixia full-time for more than 3 years

Prosgreat team, good salary and social benefits. All in all a great place to work - with some negative points at the Managerial Level in UK. I would recommend Ixia as a place to work.

ConsMissing work life balance. The Top EMEA Management is a joke. They are no leaders - they are managers and don´t do what´s necessary to make things possible or work. They don´t listen to experts and don´t eat their own cooking. They are doubtful and full of fear.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your experts in the countries. That would help in most of the situations - either in good or bad.

Great place to learn

Software Engineer I (Current Employee)

I have been working at Ixia full-time

ProsAwsome people and a dynamic environment. One can learn a lot in a relative short amount of time. Very good local management and a very relaxed working environment with a lot a benefits.

ConsUnbalanced workload between maintenance and new feature development. In some periods work tends to be monotonous. Being a relatively large company a shift in direction takes a long time and decissions have to come from top levels.

Good place to grow up professionally

Software Engineer (Current Employee)
Bucharest (Romania)

I have been working at Ixia full-time for less than a year

ProsTalented co-workers
Decent salary & benefits
Chance to work with bleeding edge network technologies

ConsNeed to do extra hours sometimes, due to working with people from different time zones (India/US)
Somewhat lack of innovation, like most big companies
Lack of focus on quality. Developers are spending way too much time on fixing bugs vs creating new solutions

Advice to Senior ManagementFind a way to keep engineers on developing new features. Bug fixing should take much less time.

Software Engineer I (Former Employee)
Bucharest (Romania)

I worked at Ixia full-time for more than a year

ProsWorking for a company that develops a successful product. One has the opportunity of developing both technical and soft skills.

ConsIf working in the same project for a long period you won't have the chance of learning new technologies.
Sometimes working in a geographically distributed environment can become challenging.
