Good, stable employer who takes care of it's own

Senior Project Manager (Current Employee) Houston, TX (US)

ProsReally smart and nice people; great projects; friendly environment; good benefits and flexibility

ConsNo clear career path set for anyone - you have to make your own and make it a priority to move up in the company; otherwise you will stay in the same position forever with small pay increases

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on employee career management so you don't lose valuable people to competitors; keep things fresh by letting people mix in and out of the different business lines

Great company but not quite a meritocracy

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat work environment. Good projects. Decent pay. Good work/life balance. Some of the people are very competent and almost everybody is nice and supportive.

ConsIt's hard to get ahead because the company tends to promote based on tenure and/or whether you are like them, rather than based on merit. There is more dead wood than I expected when I joined several years ago and a lot of those people are not going anywhere.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to branch out and promote more people who are not from a traditional background. Give better raises and bonuses.

    Facility coordinator

Facilities Coordinator (Current Employee) Chandler, AZ (US)

ProsEnjoyed my work environment very much and the training that Jones Lang LaSalle gave me in different areas. There were many tools and training courses that applied to my job that I truly enjoyed. I liked that Jones Lang LaSalle was such a large company and there were many advancement opportunities.

ConsThe company was so large that you sometimes got forgotten. Reviews and pay raises were not addressed on time.

Advice to Senior ManagementConsider listening to your Coordinators along with you Managers. Some Managers do not have the proper training for the job and the actual coordinators know more. Also Many Managers pass all their responsibility to the coordinator which is okay as long as the coordinator can get compensated properly for it.
