    I worked at Juniper Networks full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    I spent almost a decade with this company and it was a great place to. Juniper has the ability to develop great products and being visionary at the same time.
    - Career opportunity
    - excellent people
    - reasonable salary
    - excellent reputation
    - always challenging (and thus never boring)

    Cons

    Well, we all know that A-People hire A-People and B-People hire C-People. Unfortunately there was a time when some B-People moved into management position and that is where the dilemma started...
    There are many excellent leaders in Juniper but in some geographical regions it is no fun to work for Juniper as there are still some people on board with room for improvement of their personal skills.

    No advice, most of them know what they are doing and they are excellent. For the others it is useless to give any advice...

    Innovative Products & Great Story
    Competitive pay
    Great people internally and within channel

    Often hired externally
    Constantly changing targets & commission plans
    Frustrating to be in sales force at times due to lenghty approval chains.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Support more staff for internal promotions & the needed training to progress their careers. Many people need to leave to then be asked back back in more senior positions.

    So much potential, but they are flat-lining

    Pros

    Long Hours, but flexibility.
    Great Technical teams
    Majority of product is technically very good
    Loyal Customer base

    Cons

    Frantic cost cutting, so no marketing or expenditure
    Want growth, but don't want to invest to achieve
    Yearly, sometimes twice yearly culls, very de-motivational
    challenging to get new business in with no investment, may as well work for a start up with no resources.

    Stop paying lip service and politicking.

    Positive company with excellent high end infrastructure product portfolio gaining particular success with SP customers and an emerging Enterprise customer base that is keeping Cisco honest

    Cons

    Resource limitations outside of North America employee community create a challenging environment to achieve the right level of customer and partner engagement

    Pros

    It's a great place to work if you like to be busy and multi task. It's really operational with prioritization to the fore. Benefits are you really learn allot

    Cons

    Long hours, lack of strategic view, very short tem focused, lack of investment in the sales teams, over hype the technology, competition getting stronger

    I have been working at Juniper Networks

    Pros

    Making a difference in a company that's making a difference. Lots of change means lots of opportunities to influence and contribute in a positive way. Juniper also has a strong programme of product development in both the Service Provider and Enterprise markets which means you are very unlikely to get stuck in a rut. We also have a very good benefits package - which just adds the cherry on the top of the job satisfaction icing. A nice mix of work/life balance with manageable travel.

    Cons

    You have to be prepared to accept continual change which might be hard for some people, but if that's what you like you'll get it in abundance at Juniper!

    Pros

    The culture is very nice, environment is very productive. I was able to talk with and discuss with my senior folks without any fear or issue. They were always there to help and guide me. The work was challenging and intresting. Loved each and every thing about it

    Cons

    Cafeteria is only present in two new buildings, older building does not have much charm in it

    Pros

    Many inside sales positions are just call rooms where the rep's make 100's of cold calls per day. Juniper partners each inside rep with 1 outside rep, both responsible for the same territory number. Inside reps are given SE support and are treated as valuable as the outside reps. Great stepping stone to outside sales.

    Cons

    The company is constantly changing products. We spend months working on strategies around specific products only to have them sold off. It creates an environment where people are afraid to purchase wondering what's next to go.
