    I worked at Kimberly-Clark full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great focus on personal development and plenty of learning opportunities.
    Brilliant benefits scheme

    Cons

It is very difficult to move up and the company expects a lot compared to the salaries they offer.
A lot of Machiavellians at the top, talking the talk but failing to grow with the company's values

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop more openings and roles which people can grow into

I have been working at Kimberly-Clark

    Pros

I have worked at this company for 23 years and for most of those years the culture was loyal to employees while expecting a great deal of commitment and personal sacrifice, especially in terms of relocation. The wages were good, the benefits were top rate, you were held accountable but, arguably, there were some HR administrative processes that lacked standard work and leadership accountability. But all in all, a great place to work

    Cons

Over the past 10 years, everything has changed. Market based compensation has meant that very few individuals get an annual salary handling. Benefits have been consistently cut year after year. Organizational redesigns have occurred with regularity every 20 - 30 months which has slashed the management workforce. And yet, we have brought in legions and layers of management from the outside, especially among the Marketing, HR and ITS community. Long service employees with consistently strong performance records are simply moved out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop and take stock of what we are doing to this culture. We all appreciate a $110 stock price, but no at the expense of the soul of the company. Put the ONE back into ONE K-C

    Pros

    Employees who help a lot
    Offices
    Location
    Canteen
Free coffee machine which help to survive

    Cons

    No directions, processes
Too many tasks for a low salary
    Lack of knowledge (team management)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Team Management should actually develop people skills and technical skills
HR should learn how to deal with employees

I have been working at Kimberly-Clark full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

the people are great for the most part, and the best part of working at K-C. Benefits are slightly above average.

    Cons

The EU organisation has now merged with MEA into EMEA, and the workforce is being pushed to their limits. The great culture that had been part of K-C is being eroded as the business is under enormous pressure. This will start to effect the work-life balance that the company has been able to trade for mid-market salaries. Spend too much time fighting fires instead of pausing to fix a problem with something other than a short-term solution. the whole business seems to be making it up as they go along now.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop restructuring, or next time handle it in much better fashion. 3 restructures in as many years have left the workforce overworked and unmotivated. Put a plan in place before jumping into something huge like a restructure or integration.

    I have been working at Kimberly-Clark full-time

    Pros

Employs great people that you can learn a lot from. Good graduate intake but they struggle to keep them as the grading levels are flat and it's hard to progress beyond a certain level. Benefits and pay are fair although new bonus structure combined with performance related objectives have changed the culture.

    Cons

Open posting roles not always fair and decisions are made before people even know roles exist. Headcount reduction always round the corner and at the drop of a hat. Top talent treated well, everyone else left to battle through.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be fair and honest! Keep your graduates happy they are your future and you invest a lot of money in them.

    I worked at Kimberly-Clark full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great opportunities to work across different teams and work collaboratively with others. Great support from more experienced employees. Friendly and helpful staff.

    Cons

Instruction and roles were often undefined. Some tasks were repetitive and did not provide challenge. Communication between leadership and team members was not always effective, resulting in job duplication or gaps in work arising.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Discuss ways with team members to ensure they are stretched and challenged. Ensure that have a clear idea of their role and are able to review and assess progress and decisions with the leadership team.

I have been working at Kimberly-Clark full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The company offers flexible working along with a generous holiday entitlement, allowing for an excellent work-life balance. Above average compensation is offered throughout most departments and the company diversity policy makes for a comfortable workplace.

    Cons

Resources (the employees) are stretched particularly thin meaning that everyday can become a constant battle to keep on top of the workload. A real lack of career opportunities for most employees.

I have been working at Kimberly-Clark

    Pros

Salary is ok, holiday entitlement is alright, colleagues are by and large ok (helps you to survive in that awful environment)

    Cons

Employees stretched way too thinly, inept management at all levels, too much reliance on cost saving to make money and a tremendous lack of product innovation. This is hardly an exciting company at the forefront of things. Way too cautious until it decides on the next round of redundancies. Seems very reactive as opposed to proactive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be bold - follow your own 'one KC behaviours' :)

    Pros

I've had good experiences. Although long term opportunities look very sparse as they are continually shrinking their organisational structure.

    Cons

More focus on management systems, rather than focusing on getting things done.

    Pros

Good work life balance and respectful atmosphere. Genuinely good working conditions and benefits. Good company brand for CV

    Cons

Low salaries in middle management positions. No clear development path unless you came from graduate program. No innovation . Always under cost saving programs. European business constantly shrinking.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Walk the talk concerning career development and market based compensation . Innovation means investment.
