Current Employee – been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Pay is ok. Hours are good - no weekends. People are generally very nice.
Cons – Pay (just ok)
Micromanagement
Does not ask for employee opinion often enough.
Advice to Senior Management – Loosen up.
Don't judge a book by it's cover.
Cross-locational attempt and current re-org are making your employee's miserable.

Former Employee – worked at Lincoln Financial Group full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Excellent benefits include their 401k match, HSA medical option, tele-commuting, max contribution to education, really friendly and helpful environment (I've been told it's the nicest place to work from employees coming from other companies), plus annual bonus for non-sales positions.
Cons – Quite low employee turnover so career advancement can be frustrating and high probability of doing 2+ jobs at the same time. No mentoring system in place.
Advice to Senior Management – Lots of talk about career mapping for years, but never implemented. I also suggest a mentoring and/or internship for current employees, not just for new graduates coming in via LDP.

Former Employee – worked at Lincoln Financial Group
Pros – Overall, the company provides competitive pay upon hire, good benefits and tuition assistance. Employees are encouraged to pursue continued education when able.
Cons – There seems to be a disconnect with mgmt and staff due to a lack of communication/transparency and challenges with accountability among staff. There is also difficultly in maintaining a work/life balance, limited career advancement, outdated technology and unclear company direction. Tied together with a stressful, high pressure work environment with a strong emphasis on numbers is resulting in poor employee morale and high turnover.
Advice to Senior Management – Improve the disconnect by taking the time to communicate with the workforce to identify the issues causing the high turnover especially since the more experienced employees are the ones leaving. Develop and enforce strategies to address these issues and focus on improving/strengthening employee retention.

Pros – Great benefits. Opportunities for growth.
Cons – Company is becoming more "corporate". More layers. More red tape.
Advice to Senior Management – While culture change is inevitable, let's not forget the values and people that made Lincoln a great company for years.

Pros – Lots of new project to get exposure and grow with company.
Very helpful managers to get you training and exposure to new technologies and project work.
Recognizance for years of service like 5 years, 10 years, etc.
Cons – Certain admin tasks take long time to complete due to lengthy process involved.
Need to keep technology up to date rather than waiting too long to upgrade legacy systems.
