I worked at Live Nation Entertainment

    Pros

There is a good work life balance. For someone who is always up for a new challenge, being able to move from a development team, to a marketing group, to services, and back again, provides the intellectual challenge that many people seek – without having to update the resume and embark on a job search.

    Cons

Lot of politics happens at the higher. The benefits were less. Not a paymaster. There was not much socialising or team lunches organized by the management.

I worked at Live Nation Entertainment full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The biggest music and entertainment promoter on the planet. Plenty of opportunity to be entreprenurial and build a book of business. Lots of very passionate people who are excited to be working in and around the music industry.

    Cons

Lots of pressure from above and occasional favoritism by management that can create "competition" between colleagues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Always promote cooperation and collaboration.

I have been working at Live Nation Entertainment full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you want to work on the inside in the music business, great place. Employee base has a tremendous passion for the industry and in presenting the best product in class.

    Cons

Office culture is fragmented. Takes a bit too long to get to know who the players are in other departments and many but not all, give off a vibe that they'd prefer you don't bother them and instead of trying to find a creative solution or offer an alternative way to solve a problem, just dismiss it out of hand.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Foster a problem solving and collaborative atmosphere between all departments. This attitude is sure to trickle down and inoculate against "not my job" syndrome.

I worked at Live Nation Entertainment full-time

    Pros

It is an exciting business, working in the Music business can be very exciting and rewarding. The lower management team is like a family and is very supportive of each other.

    Cons

The upper management is more concerned with their own bonuses and company politics that they do not value middle management and the worker.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Support initiatives to value the employees and make your upper management accountable for the poor treatment.

I worked at Live Nation Entertainment full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You'll meet some great people here, many of whom have been at this location since its inception. There's comraderie here on the "grunt" level and everyone is usually really good at supporting one another to get the tasks at hand completed. Obviously getting to hear live music is a huge pro if you're a music fan.

    Cons

The pay is very low, and no parking is offered for employees not in management so that can really take a chunk out of already meager earnings. Getting comped concert tickets (one of the few perks) is so difficult and arbitrary that it's really a con. A string of very poor GMs at this location caused many valued employees to leave. All of these GMs were fired for various reasons which leaves the venue and staff adrift and causes constant upheaval in policies and procedures.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the time to hire GMs that are actually honest and fair individuals. The captain of the ship can easily sail it into smooth waters or choppy seas depending on what kind of integrity and morals they possess.

I worked at Live Nation Entertainment as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Welcoming and fun environment, opportunity to meet upcoming music artist; notable brand name. Also getting into shows for free is amazing, front row, beyond the barricade and you get to keep your footage of course for your own portfolio.

    Cons

Contract payment may be inconsistent. Opportunities for videographers are sparse in Georgia, probably because most of their major artists are filmed in major cities like LA or New York City.

I have been working at Live Nation Entertainment full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The pro is definitely getting to do something you are passionate about and getting to enjoy concerts (if you're not working them all the time). The work environment is casual in the office and you often get to meet some great people.

    Cons

The work-life balance is poor, especially if you have to work the concerts. There is little to no advancement in the company unless you are willing to pack up your life and move around the country and not get paid much for it. If you don't like your job, there are hundreds of people who want to take your place and are willing to pay the dues to get there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees more instead of making them feel replaceable. Create more internal motivation.

I worked at Live Nation Entertainment full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I got to meet some really amazing people. I saw some amazing shows and have some incredible stories.

    Cons

Management doesn't really adequately fund departments. Was doing the job of two people and couldn't get additional help. Also, some people have huge egos that can make getting things done challenging.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend money on hiring good people instead of pet insurance, internal artist competitions.

I have been working at Live Nation Entertainment as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

I do not see many advantages of interning here except for maybe thinking that it will look good on my resume when I try to apply for a real job.

    Cons

There is neither a real internship program nor mentorship from management. You work for long hours and you also do not have many perks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offering real mentorship to interns would be a good start.
