Pros – Pleasant working environment
Family like atmosphere
Good benefits such as PTO, insurance, and retirement
Great tuition discount for employees children
Cons – Because of state budget cuts, pay increases stopped five years ago.
State govt. red tape can be a pain sometimes.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to the folks at the bottom. Their opinions count too.

Cons – The community has little to offer. Library is not ideal for research.

Former Employee – worked at Louisiana Tech University part-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Opportunities to meet coaches and staff as well as be apart of tech athletics.
Everyone is very close and knows each other by name.
Great understanding of student comes first attitude and are willing to be there for you when you need them if you are there for them when they need you.
Cons – Not really any cons besides when there is nothing to do and you're just waiting around for something to happen.
Can get boring when sports are out of season, and busy when basketball season is going.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to do great work!

Less opportunities to get connected with the big companies

Pros – Generally the Work Environment is very good. Ruston is a good, peaceful city to work in. Research oriented approach of the university.
Cons – Is a bit remote from the big companies perspective. Development policies of the state affects the performance of the university.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue the good work.
