Pros – 1. Excellent opportunities for client facing implementation projects for deserving consultants.
2. Opportunities for onsite savings with flexible travel policies.
3. Good client logos.
Cons – 1. Business Process transformation projects are also led by IT Managers who never worked in Industry.
2. Many Program Managers are purely from technical back ground.
3. Real shortage of good Managers.
Advice to Senior Management – 1. Going forward Industry will look for more business transformation projects, please invest on industry expertise.
2. Shuffling between consultants and program managers between the roles will not only help organisation's growth but also will help evaluations of senior management's capability.

I worked at Mahindra Satyam
Pros – The company is great place for someone who is willing to use his / her years of experience in repairing a wrecked ship. The company values individual heroes and can be easily negotiated with, for better pay or promotion, if you are a hero.
Cons – Too much control from India. Absence of any benefits. A high pay is therefore just an illusion. Ridiculous pay policy for variable pay. Only top 5% of the performers, identified in the appraisal, are guaranteed to receive their full variable pay for next year. The others can expect anything from 75% to nothing. Poor resource management. No scheduling team exists, resulting in a high number of free salary earners who are not monitored.
Advice to Senior Management – Cut your losses. Understand that "people" are the most important assets in IT. Respect your employees and thank them in your prayers, because you are nothing without them.

Pros – provides a good launch pad for fresh graduates. A wide range range of industry experience is possible to gain in the company
Cons – poor compensation after all this is what every employee works for and if that is not at market level then there is no job satisfaction
Advice to Senior Management – retain efficient and experienced staff. filter out the non performers with strong metrics and benchmarking procedures. treat your employees as human beings

I have been working at Mahindra Satyam
Pros – Great Delivery team - plenty of experience, drive and initiative. Excellent support in most parts of the company. Great learning opportunities and education. Strong focus on customer and quality.
Cons – Finance! The meltdown as a result of Raju's actions have affected the company with many leaders and talented people leaving or lured by competition.
Advice to Senior Management – Have a vision - communicate this vision to all staff constantly and show there is a strong future ahead - do not let company drift along.

I worked at Mahindra Satyam
Pros – Never ever work for the firm. Yes if you are intersted in low wage Asda type jobs then go for it. If you really want to work in Satyam then you will be better off working in Hyderabad, their head office.
Cons – Your career growth will always be clipped and you will end up working with some blunt people who always communicate in their native language. Their work culture is dismal and whenever they send you on an oniste assigment they tend to think that they have given you the best in the world. Whereas the reality is that they pay you the minimal wage possible. Career growth is pathetic and is guided by how much your manager knows you and if you are bale to speak their native language.
Advice to Senior Management – They tend to act like white elephants. Senior managers think they run the show and are unable to get their act straight. They can go to any length to procure new business and often are not ashamed to take-on even £4k projects.
