    Pros

I truly enjoyed my time with the company. Great co-workers, management, and customers allowed me to learn a lot of information. The company was willing to accommodate its employees especially when it came to schedule changes.

    Cons

I didn't really see any downsides while working at Marshalls. I would say the benefits of a TJX card may want to be revamped, but in terms of the daily operations of the company I felt everything was done fairly effectively.

    Advice to Management

Continue to encourage employees to move up in the ranks and provide more opportunities for employees to interact with customers in creative ways outside of simply TJX card benefits.

    Pros

Arranged garments according to departments and handed out tickets. Tracked garments and handled ticket inventory. Pulled out return merchandise from the service desk and broought it into the fitting room. Paging various departments to get their garments, shoes, jewelry brought in by the customers.

    Cons

Working 8 hour shifts and getting late lunches almost at 2:00 p.m since there was no one to cover and ending up getting a write-up from management since the store policy was to take lunch before the 5th hour of work. Removing paper from the restroom off the big roller. .

    Advice to Management

    None whatsoever!!

    Pros

Good people . Nice atmosphere. Good discount.

    Cons

Hours are minimal to start. And pay is minimum wage. But chance to move up.

I have been working at Marshalls part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a really good start for someone who wants to pursue a career in retail. The hiring manager is great.

    Cons

I personally feel they don't pay their employees enough. They hold you accountable for a lot of managerial mistakes and encouraged you to get all customers to sign up for their rewards credit card which not everyone wants. If you don't ask for people to sign up for rewards or gift cards you get written up. Many coordinators rarely work and take credit for what the cashiers do.

    Pros

Good marketing, Great associates in a lot of the stores.

    Cons

Merchandise flow can be difficult. No consistency and that impacts the store and sales. Don't ask what you can do to help and then not act. It only makes you feel good and it is not collaborative or team building. Limited internal growth from the stores position above manager.

    Advice to Management

    None - you won't listen anyways.. .

    Pros

It's a good atmosphere, and you'll work with a diverse group of people. Schedules are generally flexible but less so than other jobs. If you communicate with management, you're usually okay.

    Cons

You have to turn requests in three weeks in advance. It is completely on you if something other than an emergency comes up and you have a shift - you can trade it/give it to another employee, but that's about it.

    Pros

Coworkers can be nice, first dibs on merch off trucks, 10% discount, decent insurance/benefits, monthly "raffle" drawings for associates (% off coupons etc)

    Cons

Lack of payroll, 30 hours is full time, DM's don't even pretend to care about associate concerns quote-"be greatful you have a job at all", delays in posting schedules (ie sometimes you don't know if you're working Sunday until after 5pm on Friday)

    Advice to Management

Trickle down a few thousand more dollars per month so stores can be staffed properly to meet your often ridiculous Door to Floor in 4+4 standards.
