    I have enjoyed the experience

I have been working at Marshalls part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I have been working here for almost three years during my college career. They are very flexible with my schedule, but during the summer there aren't guaranteed hours so I always have to keep a second job.

    Cons

I work in a busy area so sometimes customers can be overly rude.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't keep a supervisor around that consistently cause confrontation with the majority of the store employees without ever writing the person up because it cause a strain on employees and their ability to perform their job to the level of satisfaction they desire.

Overall good, but I've recently been put under a store manager who is being allowed to stunt my growth.

I have been working at Marshalls full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

They are lenient with work schedules, They have great opportunities for advancement. The benefits for full-time benefits are great

    Cons

The workload is far too high for the pay. Store Managers don't seem to be held to the same standards as everyone else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great opportunity for advancement, unless you find yourself under the leadership of a store manager who does not have your best intentions at heart. If you find yourself in that situation, you have to communicate your concerns to your district manager.

    Pros

There are some amazing people that work here. You can have a flexible schedule to work around another job or school. The discount is always great and you get to see the new merchandise before anyone else

    Cons

Not really room for advancement here. This is just a job not a career type of employer for the majority of its employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

i think there should be a change in policy on how loss prevention is handled

I have been working at Marshalls full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

They will promote from within. Flexible hours. Rotten pay and no benefits unless you are full-time. No benefits either if you are not full time.

    Cons

My boss broke so many company rules and corporate looked the other way. You get trained if you are a favorite. Otherwise, it is put up or shut up!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The culture per the handbook is great if it is upheld.

    Pros

This is a great company to learn and grow with. There's always opportunity if you work hard and do your job.

    Cons

It's hard to hire good people because the pay is low. But once they come to work here, they usually stay. Management sometimes is overworked making them hard to deal with

I have been working at Marshalls part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

It was easy to get a job there, especially for a first job.
Decent scheduling that's 3 weeks out (usually) and flexible.
    Some great co-workers.

    Cons

Most of the time management is not concerned about their employees or the work atmosphere, they just want you to get people to sign up for credit cards. If you aren't good at getting people to sign up then they track it and will give you a talking to. Also they are usually understaffed and "try" to hire people but usually don't. Most people quit after a few months on the job so there is a very high turn-over rate. Some employees can be very rude, lazy or both.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more understanding, less intimidating and rude. Put at least some focus on your employees, and not just your favorites.
