I worked at NBCUniversal as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Made contractors very welcome, felt like part of the team. Good perks, soft drinks, fruit and snacks. Good atmosphere

  2. Shambolic IT senior management team - very slow and unresponsive/senior leadership

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at NBCUniversal full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Apart from IT the rest of the departments are good to work for

    Cons

IT is a sham, slow, unresponsive and very cynical. People are not promoted for their skill and initiative and delivery capabilities. People have risen to the level of incompetence - at least they aren't doing the work which would mean certain meltdown. bordering on corrupt.
Promotion is merited on being friends with the VPs
If you like football and rugby you'll get on with leadership
None of the VPs in tech have any qualifications in IT or anything else.
If you want to feel like you are working in fiefdom and dictatorship and have a need to know what 70s style management is then join this team. Otherwise stay well clear!!!

    Pros

Strong senior leadership at headquarters - Steve Burke is very impressive
Sense of momentum and investment since Comcast's acquisition in 2011
Culture is shifting from silos to more collaborative

Company communicates as a domestic business vs an international business
No sense of a digital strategy
Company limits its payscale to only pay talent the median of benchmarked roles

    I worked at NBCUniversal

    Pros

Exciting to work for such a big company in the entertainment industry. Free coffee, tea and fruit is definitely a plus. Great location.

    Cons

Doesn't have much connection/communication to Domestic so work opportunities don't exactly cross those borders, which is a disappointment. Not much else.
