I have been working at Old Navy part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Old Navy is an excellent company to work for. Its a fun environment with a lot of fun events. Excellent discounts at Old Navy (25%), Gap (50%), and Banana Republic (50%). Flexible schedule/hours. Can take vacations whenever. You receive little pressure from managers to do certain tasks.
Cons – The one reason why I am unhappy with Old Navy is because of the pay. I have been a part-time employee (Cash Handler) for 4 1/2 years, and I am still not making $8 an hour. I don't show up late, I never call out... i'm pretty much a perfect employee. This was my first and only job I have ever had, so I started out making minimum wage which is probably why I am still not making as much as I like. It stinks because management has no control over your pay, as it is an underlying corporate issue.
Advice to Senior Management – PLEASE talk to corporate about your employees' pay! Some employees could feel discomfort by asking for a raise... theres probably a lot of other employees besides me that are discouraged by their current pay....

I worked at Old Navy part-time for less than a year
Pros – I was hired as a seasonal associate, and was only kept for the seasonal period.
Overall, this was a very good first job in retail. The hours were very manageable and were easy to balance with school and other activities. Everyone I met was very helpful.
Cons – I only was kept for the seasonal period and was never trained on the registers.

I worked at Old Navy part-time for more than a year
Pros – Fun, energetic, creative environment. Would definitely highly recommend to others. Atmosphere in store largely depends on people directly in charge, so floor leaders more than managers.
Cons – Early hours, no real training, very scattered tasks when working.

I have been working at Old Navy part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Extremely flexible with scheduling, compensation/pay is much higher than other retail positions, co-workers are friendly, managers are generally helpful and friendly, work isn't difficult, overall freedom in work (managers are generally not breathing down your neck).
Cons – Sometimes can be understaffed which creates issues in keeping store clean, while the freedom is nice, sometimes there isn't enough direction, hours are extremely competitive and during off-season there is a significant decrease in available shifts.

I worked at Old Navy part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great atmosphere and employee benefits. Part of Gap Inc. so the growth opportunities are plenty.
Cons – Hours inconsistent. Many times you are scheduled and if the store is slow they make you go home several hours early.
Advice to Senior Management – Show a little more concern for associates' time.

Pros – Excellent store management. Positive feedback, recognition and incentives. Teammates are a variety of ages and backgrounds making each shift interesting and fun. Old Navy clientele are run the gamut from the woman with the Michael Kors bag to the single dad with kids getting back to school clothes. Each day is an opportunity to help someone new.
Cons – Work as a sales associate can be repetitive.
Advice to Senior Management – Start sales associates at a wage that is higher than minimum hourly.

I worked at Old Navy part-time for less than a year
Pros – the friendships and the work environment
Cons – the hours were not very good
Advice to Senior Management – the clothes could be better and more inclusive. It seems like only hipsters shop at Old Navy now.
