Cleveland, OH (US)

Former Employee – worked at PNC Financial Services Group full-time for more than 8 years

ProsThere are a lot of work perks for people who work in Wealth Management that other sections of the bank do not receive.

ConsWorking at National City was great until PNC took over. They treat their employees like slaves. After 10 years of service, which included many awards, extra raises and much praise, I was forced into quitting after my return from medical leave. After I quit so I wouldn't end up in an institution, I have heard many stories just like mine. PNC likes to force people to quit so they don't have to pay.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo your job and address the issue's at hand instead of overlooking them or telling the employee to take care of it yourself. You're paid to be a manager, so act like one! And when an employee is unhappy and applies for their old job, don't block them from changing jobs because u lost 6 already.

Columbus, OH (US)

Former Employee – worked at PNC Financial Services Group part-time for less than a year

ProsSlow location, great staff, nice customers

ConsLow pay, tellers do everything but get paid the lowest. No room for advancement.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay tellers in columbus ohio more money. They deal the most with your customer and they will be more willing to give 5 star service. This will reduce turnover rate and create loyalty.

Pittsburgh, PA (US)

Current Employee – been working at PNC Financial Services Group full-time for more than a year

Prosits a job if you either dont have a degree or have a degree and kind of just waiting for something better for now its okay, coworkers are nice , pay is okay

Conspay okay but not live- able. dont expect a raise unless your in sales , managers are horrendously mean and treat people very badly not only in my area but my coworkers have mentioned the same , moving up is hard to do even with a degree and experience, close to say it is a "just a number " kinda place. life balance is not there . benefits are poor at best

Advice to Senior Managementneed more structure and training for management maybe even a mentoring program .

Chicago, IL (US)

Former Employee – worked at PNC Financial Services Group full-time for more than 3 years

ProsLots to do, great banking experience if you are looking to succeed in the retail banking industry.

ConsThey do not pay a livable wage for living in Chicago, and expect you to meet suburban style goals, in a city setting. Management is inflexible for new ideas and innovation.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay people more in salary's, and you will lower your turnover rate. Get some realistic data in regards to the majority of people that live in the city, not the suburban white 500k+ people that commute into the city.

Current Employee – been working at PNC Financial Services Group full-time for more than 7 years

ProsThe PNC name holds with in the financial sector. Thus, it will look good on your resume.

ConsThe company is so customer and bottom dollar driven that it neglects the needs of its employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more open with your employees

Current Employee – been working at PNC Financial Services Group

ProsLarge stable company with a lot of latteral movement possibilities, fair benefits packages, tuition reimbursement.

ConsLower than average compensation compared to competitors, set yearly compensation increase caps and new placement increase caps. Most have to leave and get hired back to get a salary increase that is competitive for their job title. If you get your foot in the door, depending on the department, you can get title increases but not much compensation.

Advice to Senior ManagementDevelop your employees who have invested in your organization and compensate them for their efforts and contributions. Don't treat them like a number.

Former Employee – worked at PNC Financial Services Group

ProsThe people that work there are awesome; you will meet the best people of your life at work. You also keep contact with former employees; one of the best networking companies around.

ConsWorkload can get crazy busy. Promotion system...more like lateral move or move into better job. There isn't exactly a grade I/II/III type deal. You basically either go into management (and compete with everyone else) or take a new/better job.
