New York, NY (US)

Current Employee – been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than 3 years

ProsEverybody likes the Pepsi Guy!
Relatively easy to get hired if you have a clean background and are persistent.
Benefits, not much more; more cons than pros.

ConsLong hours, low $/hour since you are paid a fixed amount, not hourly
You have to work through your lunch to get done in time
You are just a human robot
No real room for advancement

Former Employee – worked at PepsiCo full-time for more than 3 years

ProsExcellent opportunity to learn and know different business operations. The Company in general is so interested in employees well being. Challenging.

ConsI think that for women is still difficult to get promotions or a raise for the same work as male colleagues do.
Low compensation compared with the market.
The company likes to laid off people every year for savings instead of exploring other options, in the other hand they hire so much people using outsourcing companies.

Former Employee – worked at PepsiCo as an intern for less than a year

ProsDiverse product line, many employees friendly and knowledgeable

ConsUncomfortable relationship between the PepsiCo workers and Contractors

Advice to Senior ManagementFind opportunities to share projects between business units - everyone does their own thing and knows little of what others are working on within the company.

New York, NY (US)

Current Employee – been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGreat place to learn about a complex multinational matrix organized organization.
Great number of opportunities if you go after them yourself.
Passionate people and opportunity to build a really strong network.
Really inspirational & strong CEO, Indra Nooyi

ConsLink with society, a fast mover which manufactures fun for you products, meaning products that contribute to a unhealthy lifestyle. Even while the portfolio slowely moves to a more healthy for you category, its core is still processed foods and beverages.
Very layered and lots of people only partly accountable.
Work environment, not inspirational.

Chicago, IL (US)

Current Employee – been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than a year

ProsBrilliant colleagues, opportunities to grow abound, and driven culture. It's a great place to learn the CPG world. Fantastic benefits.

ConsPolitics sometimes interfere with efficiency, hard to grow quickly in R&D, lagging behind other CPGs in terms of innovation and technology.

Advice to Senior ManagementInclude your direct reports in the conversation. They'll appreciate being kept in the loop from a top down approach.

Erie, PA (US)

Former Employee – worked at PepsiCo full-time for more than a year

ProsSupportive environment, in tuned to challenges faced by being the lone woman in a male field. Lots of advancement opportunity if you are willing to work for it.

ConsThere was definitely a small town mentality at the location I worked in. May not be true company wide, but it was a very very small minded town. Issues with Sexual Harrasment
