I have been working at Planned Parenthood
Pros – Hardworking, dedicated and enthusiastic co-workers
Cons – An organization that is very high paced due to the constant need to protect women's rights to health care access.

I worked at Planned Parenthood full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Cutting edge public policy, community organizing tools at your fingertips. Fast paced, mostly enthusiastic staff.
Cons – Working here is a non-stop battle for public support. Be prepared to be the controversial member of your family and never be able to leave work at work.
Advice to Senior Management – I wish they would consider their impact on the wider impact on women and not so focused on aggressive battle for the right to choose. Need to care for employees better and embrace broader perspectives on abortion.

I have been working at Planned Parenthood part-time for more than a year
Pros – Planned Parenthood is doing some of the most important work in the country. Politically, it's an outstandingly positive force. The community of employees is incredibly close, warm, and supportive. Also, you often get free condoms/materials depending on your department.
Cons – I can't think of much except that occasionally, you'll get a negative response when you tell someone you work at PP.

I worked at Planned Parenthood as an intern
Pros – DIrect patient interaction is a huge plus, also the chance to be involved with such a politically relevant organization was very important to me.
Cons – Volunteers are not permitted to observe some of Planned Parenthood's procedures, which means those who want to learn more (ie. medical track) are a bit inhibited.
Advice to Senior Management – More volunteer interaction events.

I worked at Planned Parenthood full-time for more than a year
Pros – You get to meet a lot of interesting people, by way of your patients. Some of very trying, but many will touch your heart. If you believe in the mission, you feel good about helping.
Cons – Unprofessional, mean-spirited coworkers and supervisors. Favoritism is rampant. The people who stay do so because they are unqualified to work anywhere else and the make the same amount of money. The patient load is incredibly high. Long hours some weeks, short hours others. Little to no career mobility. Vast disconnect between management & PR versus the assistants, nurses and doctors who actually do the work. One of the most depressing places I have ever worked.
Advice to Senior Management – Affordable healthcare, please. It's disheartening to make $13/hour, pay over $100/mo for health insurance, and have it cover very little. Career mobility.

I worked at Planned Parenthood full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great mission, play a vital role in communities, it's easy to see the positive impact on patient's lives each day, fantastic benefits, great coworkers, opportunities for growth and education, flexible work environment, team approach to meeting company goals.
Cons – Upper management isn't always transparent about internal decision making with staff in health centers. Feels like a detached entity is altering clinic environments for employees.
Advice to Senior Management – Make more of an effort to spend time in the health centers, particularly before you suggest changes to the flow of clinic, or add more tasks for clinical staff
