Good Company, Some Challenges with Structure

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at RealPage full-time for more than a year

ProsWorked with some great colleagues who were great at what they did.
Lots of growth opportunity.
Salaries were on par with market demand.
Tons of resources.

ConsHas struggled with incorporating new businesses into core company. This has resulted in a matrix organization that lacks any real integration between units.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind a way to better integrate geographically displaced units. Otherwise, you're leaving a lot of opportunity for growth on the table.

– I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Growing Pains

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at RealPage full-time for less than a year

ProsFlexible work schedule, some great people, and working with interesting technologies. they noticed poor company reviews in the past and are making strides to improve.

Consit has gotten big by buying out a bunch of smaller companies so all company cultures are not the same. its hard to move up within the organization.

Tremendous amount of work

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at RealPage

ProsIt is exciting and fast paced. The work can change

ConsOut dated technology. Lack of investment in in-house knowledge and training. Assumption that you are expected to deliver results from Day one.

Advice to Senior ManagementOther than the cream of the crop, many Mid-VP's rely on employees to take the lead and don't have leadership to guide the team when things get tough.

Hard work not rewarded

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at RealPage full-time for more than a year

ProsThey did pay me a salary. Mediocre one, but I guess I am to blame for accepting the offer.

ConsSo if you work hard and get the "exceeds requirements" rating, you will get around 4% annual raise. If you get "meets requirements" you will get 2.8% raise.
Of course there is no bonus at all. I mean, true, the upper management does pay themselves bonuses, but I'm taking about people doing the real work.

So basically the reward for hard work is a daily latte. After two years of being treated like this I just gave up.

Advice to Senior ManagementReward hard work. Duh!

Consultant (Current Employee)
Rundu (Namibia)

I have been working at RealPage full-time for more than a year

ProsNice to your face
Decent pay

ConsHorrible management
Stab you in your back
Don't have the courtesy to come to you about issues.
Poor benefits

Advice to Senior ManagementSr. Management should really take a look at their IT managers to see what they are doing. After working there for awhile you can see why they get a 2.5.

Stable company with some areas of improvement.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Dallas, TX (US)

I have been working at RealPage full-time

ProsRealPage is one of the leaders in the multifamily software industry and has made some positive changes in management over the past few years. It is beginning to place an emphasis on education rather than who you know.

ConsThere are some legacy hires who no longer bring value to the company. Compensation is fairly pedestrian, although it's clear that management is trying to lower cost of sales in the structure of the sales plans. HR made a big push for a tobacco-free campus, yet every executive spends the entire day dipping chewing tobacco.

Advice to Senior ManagementUtilize remote offices to bring new ideas and top talent from other cities. Bring back events like United Way week that bring employees together.
