    Pros

You get paid vacation & benefits as a full time employee after 1 year & it increases every 3 years & caps off at 3 weeks that refreshes every year on your hire date! Tons of ongoing training & advancement opportunities GALORE if you are driven & hardworking!

    Cons

It is slightly life-consuming since most salons are open 7 days a week. But if yoou are a workaholic then this is the company for you & I mean that in the best way possible! Some stylists prefer to do hair more part time & this is not the place for them. Their base pay is minimum wage, which is a downer in a slower salon but you are paid by how productive you are an hour! so if you're busy, you're making cash & making more in your hourly so it evens itself out

    Advice to Management

Bump up the base pay a bit? Minimum wage for a job we have to spend at least 9 months going to school for is not quite enough for the average stylist...

    Pros

    Meeting new people everyday.

    Cons

Pay is horrible, older salons do not get remodeled. A lot of salons closing. Too much restructing with new CEO in place. Went through so many different RVP's, RD's, and S/DL's. No room for advancement unless you already have the experience for the job you want to be promoted to. They let go a lot of leaders that were loyal the company 20+years when they did not want to retire.

    Advice to Management

Give employees opportunity to prove their worth when a promotion comes available other than hiring externally. Too many changes have gone on and lack of communication for home office is ridiculous.

    Pros

Great walk-in clientele, guaranteed base pay, number one in training in the country, opportunity to master every aspect of hair cutting and coloring, quickly, and without having to apprentice under someone for 1+ years

    Cons

Need a whole focus directed solely on recruiting, hiring and retaining stylists. Stylists are often left feeling unappreciated and replaceable. There should be compensation given and seniority rights to stylists, instead of making them feel like all these years of hard work are not paying off

    Pros

    - Excellent way to break into the IT industry at the Edina corporate office and get your foot in the door/build your Résumé. - Lots of potential to gain experience and understand how things work in a corporate environment. - Free food in the lunchroom

    Cons

    - Pay is very low compared to the other IT jobs in the area. On average you will make about 20% less than what you normally would from a position requiring the same experience/education. - No 401k matching, no short term disability (medical) leave, very little PTO (10 days per year) and health coverage is very poor. - This is not a company you should expect to work for in the long haul and retire from due to the major lack of benefits and low pay. - The Salon support helpline is heavily micromanaged by the supervisors/team leads and there is extremely high turnover. The helpline is mostly filled with temporary contractors, some of which have little to no experience troubleshooting even basic computer issues. Combining this with the fact that the helpline has never been staffed to acceptable levels, and you have a very high stress environment. Many of the talented employees put in their 1-3 years of experience and move on which is why the average seniority of an employee is barely 1 year. - Even some of the most talented employees on the helpline at the bottom rung are not recognized for their performance and are given little opportunity to move up the ladder to new positions.

    Advice to Management

Raise the bar on hiring standards. Once you have a talented team of employees that is paid well, you won't have to micro-manage them nearly as much resulting in increased happiness and productivity.
