    Pros

    9/80 schedule
    Great health insurance
    Great total comp package
    Small teams
    Friendly low-stress environment

    Cons

Challenging industry environment in which to secure company's long-term (10+ year) success
    Poor communication from upper management.

    Advice to Management

It's still a small enough company that the GMs up to COO need to talk to the folks at the individual contributor level more often than once per quarter or in the AFE Review meeting. The CEO regularly meets with manager level employees and has candid conversations - this is a great example of what can be done.

    Pros

9/80 work schedule. Small teams make it easy to talk to people in other disciplines. Very nice office building in downtown houston

    Cons

This used to be a good place to work, but new management tends to undercut the employees to make themselves look better. Decisions are ego based, not based on data or what is best for the Company.

    Advice to Management

    Work with your teams.

    Pros

Every other Friday is an off work day.
Friends and Family plan applies to compensation - if you are a friend it will work for you
Turnover is high which means if you have tough skin and can hold out you will eventually be promoted.
Actions speak more than words, it is clear after working here a couple of years how the system works, if you are not getting a promotion every two years you are not in the family plan. The pro is that you only need to work here two years to find out whether it is better to stay or go.

    Cons

A lot of compensation process and talk, but after working here, I understand that the talk is for show and the promotions are 100% retention and relationship based. Don't expect hard work to be rewarded.

Too many meetings and all decisions are made at the top and they forced downward. It is ready, fire aim at Rosetta. Decisions are made and then data and evidence is gathered to support the plan forward. If you try to recommend any improvement that is not "in the plan", you will be disciplined or shown the door

Your boss's raise and bonus gets padded with leftover money from what is not distributed to the staff. So, the management tends to find any excuse to downgrade your performance. What does not get into your pocket goes into his.

    Advice to Management

Consider basing performance on contributions and experience. There is nothing worse for the company then working for someone who does not know what he is doing.

    Pros

The Staff Level team is in general excellent, working together to bring value to the company.

    Cons

There are few bad apples, unfortunately, these bad apples are most often "promoted to their level of incompetence"

The company was recently split into an Eagleford and Permian division. Additional layers of management were added, and employees were promoted based on the "buddy" connection, not on ability. A number of talented employees left after the split, and the company is suffering for it, shown on our balance sheets and poor projections.

    Advice to Management

Have a peer review system in place when promoting. Management should touch base with the staff level occasionally, and not just use mid-managers as intermediaries.

    Pros

Flexible work schedule. The company shows its appreciation for employees through celebrations, awards, and nice offiice ammenities.

    Cons

Tenure with the company is low due to rapid growth and some turnover early on, which causes knowledge transfer issues and impacts how quickly we can execute on actitives sometimes as it is often new territory for those involved.

    Advice to Management

Continue to reward and appreciate employees.

    Pros

    Free snacks
    9/80
    Nice office
    Lots of young people

    Cons

    Too many meetings
    Not much direction
Some members of management are too young and have very little experience
Pay is based on whether you are a flight risk
Your bosses bonus is taken out of his staffs bonus pool. If he pays you less he gets more
To reward someone else management takes it from another

    Advice to Management

Reward performance and don't base pay on who you think might leave
