I have been working at Ryan, LLC full-time for less than a year
Pros – Solid starting salary with opportunity for bonuses based on your projects, excellent work/life environment, friendly co-workers and management, tons of growth and potential to work all over the world.
Cons – Project (and bonus) allocation skewed depending on what office you're in (and team you're on).
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the great work in growing the company and providing an excellent work/life environment! Allocation of projects does leave something to be desired for some of the satellite offices.

Pros – Ryan LLC offers a flexible work environment which empowers employees to be in control of their work hours, work location and personal committments. Everybody has the potential to earn above-market compensation. Assignment of professionals to teams results in pro-active efforts to generate value for the firm's clients and a sharing of skills, knowledge and friendship among team members.
In-house technical training is not only excellent but also better than what I experienced in working at a big 4 accounting firm. The training provides in-depth technical education and practical skills on how to perform and document tax recovery reviews.
Cons – I do not have any cons to note.
Advice to Senior Management – Nothing to recommend

I have been working at Ryan, LLC full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – I enjoy the Firm's bonus structure that compensates people who work hard and bring value to the firm. The flexability Ryan give through the myRyan program is unmatched.
Cons – Can be stressfull at times. Would love to have a Christmas bonus. Wish partners would be more proactive instead of reactive.
Advice to Senior Management – It would be nice to have management be more transparent about what is going on. They are doing an execellent job though navigating the direction of the Firm.

Pros – MyRyan - allows a work-life balance, especially if you have a young family.
Some of the best professionals in their field work at Ryan. Excellent atmosphere and work ethics.
Cons – Very aggressive recovery measures - if you generate money for the firm all is well, otherwise expect to be out rather quickly.

I have been working at Ryan, LLC full-time
Pros – Cool people to work with so far...they seem very helpful.
I can lots of potential in the type of projects and engagements I can be involved in.
Cons – There are sometimes steps and processes that you must go through to get simple things approved.
It would be nice if it moved faster at times.
Advice to Senior Management – Check back with me in 6 months.

Pros – Most people view tax compliance as boring and tedious, but Ryan makes the tax environment much more interesting. Learning about each client will teach you a little bit about many different industries. Each client and state also brings up different issues, which causes you to research specific case by case issues - rather than doing the same thing every day. The flexible work environment is great.
Cons – There are some deadlines that cause you to work long hours. Since everything is results driven, you are encouraged by managers to work long hours into the evenings, on occasion.
Advice to Senior Management – Encourage team leaders and managers to allow their team members to use the myRyan work environment more freely. Many team members feel guilty about working less than 9-10 hour days.

Pros – No clock punching. We're professionals and the firm treats us as such.
Cons – Can sometimes be hard to maintain a high enough fee level at the management level to survive.

I have been working at Ryan, LLC full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – The best decision Ryan ever made was to implement the "myRyan" work structure. Managers and employees have the flexibility to work without physically being in the office provided it does not impede client service. This environment allows for a much better work/life balance. Our bonus system also incentivizes teams to flight for our clients because a portion of employee compensation is directly tied to the refunds/fees we generate.
Cons – While out bonus structure is one of our greatest strengths, it can also sometimes be a source of friction between teams. Many employees have left our firm over the years because they are working just as hard as other successful teams, but their projects are just not generating the expected fees.
Advice to Senior Management – I think all employees would like the opportunity to purchase stock in the company or earmark a certain percentage of monthly pay that would go towards equity investment. This is something that was discussed in at our Firm meeting in March 2012. I believe our management team is still looking into it.

I have been working at Ryan, LLC full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Ryan provides amazing flexibility. I can work when I want and where I want as long as the work gets done. There is also amazing growth opportunity at this firm. Ryan places the future of your career on you. There are no ceilings as long as you are willing to put in the work. Also, upper management is very responsive to requests and concerns that are brought up by staff.
Cons – Highly competitive work environment which leads to the burning out of great employees. Although myRyan is suppose to provide time off, I often am so busy that I do not take as many days off as I would at other companies.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep doing what your doing.
