Pros – It's an integrated advertising agency, thus you can be able to see how things work in different department and also how things work together!

Cons – People are always busy, not so easy to talk to the management level people!

Pros – Sales teams appear to get reasonable levels of support and back up. Trainee scheme set up to take on younger trainee Hardware Break Fix engineers.

Cons – Senior Management in Managed Services dept focused totally on KPIs with little interest in Customer satisfaction. Company is very American in its approach to its work force higher / fire at will. Little / no opportunity for progression with in Managed Services

Pros – Large organisation. Some good Middle management

Cons – Most good Middle managers have been poached by vendors or other resellers so we are left with a disorganised company. Staff are not happy and many are looking at leaving. Poor development and there are not clear routes for promotion. Basic salaries are low and commission is often wrong.

Advice to Senior Management – Value the good staff and look at why so many people are leaving.

Cons – Severe downsizing
Little personal recognition
Upper management appear to be little interested in personal improvement
Training not available, except for specific customer systems
Company culture does not recognise praise as a motivator

Advice to Senior Management – Need to think long-term, and integrate inter-departmental planning. Promises made to customers must be kept - a company's reputation is gold. Management training in ITIL should be widespread, if processes are to be followed. Praise is a good motivator, sometimes more than money.

Cons – high % comp plans for sales people who sell at any cost with the delivery teams picking up the pieces later

Advice to Senior Management – Invest in people and have a compl plan covering sales and delivery teams and only paid when the customer is happy

Advice to Senior Management – Implement a better HR department. Remove decision process from upper management. Reshuffle key directorships.

Pros – You get to meet some really nice people both as customers and as fellow co workers, being left to get on with the job as you see fit.

Cons – Zero support from senior managers, zero incentive to work harder and advance your own career, zero pay rises or bonus schemes, zero overtime opportunities.

Advice to Senior Management – Look up from your desk every now and again or better still, get out from behind your desk and get out on the sharp end once in a while.
