    Good for learning

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) London, England

    ProsFamily friendly (flexible working is being tolerated a lot);
    Some experienced and knowledgeable colleagues from all professions;
    Interesting work and plenty of oportunity for creative solutions;

    ConsGeographically very spread out activities, fielded by way too little permanent employees, which accounts for a heavy work-load, much jugling and some cutting of corners. There are many contractors yes, but this ends up being more costly to the company than if they had higher head-count;
    Complicated operations and solutions, due to history, makes operating whithin the company challenging at times;
    A bit heavy and bureaucratic corporate decision making procedures;

    Advice to Senior ManagementIncrease the number of permanent head-count;
    Keep tallent in the company by keeping up with market rates of salaries & inflation.

    Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Started very good, drag from upper managerment in Geneva eventaully becomes too much to bother with

    (Former Employee) London, England

    ProsSome good people, goegrahical spread of people can be interesting

    ConsShort sighted management, dumb politics and petty empire buiding, not open to change
    Geneva head office is a liability, packed with over paid insiders believing they are somehow special, they are not.
    Over dependancy on contractor workers and off-shored resources in some critical areas.

    Advice to Senior ManagementListen to staff, get rid of politics in head office, make decision making more transparent, get rid of incumbent insiders

    across the pond

    IT Technologies (Current Employee) London, England

    Proslots of new stuff going on and a definite push towards new technologies

    ConsIf you live/work in US all is roses but if you are unfortunate to have joined SITA via the london office watch out ! no chance of any acreer advance and you will be shunted about without any consultation by managers in US who sadly have no idea what you do, and dont care anyway.i

    Advice to Senior ManagementStop being so incredibly gullible and try to employ people who can actually do the job rather than those who tell you they can. (CEO is on the way out anyway)

    An enjoyable and even exciting company to work for

    Middle Management (Current Employee) London, England

    ProsA good place to work, I can recommend SITA to any potential employee. Generally strong and competitive product range although with some loss making products that should be weeded out. Becoming a lot more innovative. Company is respected across the industry. I am proud to say I work at SITA and that is shared by most staff. Some really great and knowledgable people. Well structured HR/people management. Good salaries.

    ConsNo leadership externally or internally. CEO is virtually invisible internally and externally. No desire by Geneva HQ to communicate with or motivate employees. Constant restructuring leads to uncertainty. Regular sackings with those left being asked to do more with less. Stagnant company with low profit margins.

    Advice to Senior ManagementBasta Francesco. Get rid of our CEO, he is holding SITA back. It is time he is held to account for too many disastrous and costly decisions. The next level down - the regional presidents - are generally strong leaders and one of them could give SITA the leadership they need. Try listening to us on the ground for once rather than dictating from above. Abandon over-budget mega projects that show no ROI.

    Nice people, chaotic environment, second rate senior management

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) London, England

    ProsFriendly people and diverse cultural mix
    Good balance between work and private life
    Good benefits and holiday entitlement
    Wide range of technologies used

    ConsLack of structure
    Processes are poor or missing completely
    Lack of accountability - major programs fail (i.e. very late or well over budget) with no consequence to the program management
    The company seems to reorganise every 18-24 months
    Senior management are out of touch and lack vision
    There is a disconnect between director level and below (who know what is going on), and senior management (VP and above).

    Advice to Senior ManagementGet in touch with the real issues facing staff on the font line. Take this into account so realistic goals can be set.

    Expectancy of work is high, compensation beyond agreed salary is an extra

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) City of London, England

    ProsSITA allows you to take on opportunities and sometimes even puts opportunities on you without you having asked for it. For a person that is willing to live with unexpected constant change, it is a great opportunity.

    ConsSITA is in an internal constant flux of change, a lot of times an employee just found its way in the company, than the internal infrastructure is changing. This has caused confusion and instability.

    Advice to Senior ManagementTrust your employees that they have a power to contribute to the success of SITA, engage your employees to participate more in the change that comes with a growing successful business.

    Enjoyed it, but weak management and no processes

    Service Manager (Former Employee) London, England

    ProsFamily friendly, interesting work, respected company, job security, impossible to get sacked in France.

    ConsSalary poor, ripped-off, too many people working from home, weaken team cohesion.
    Lack of processes
    Excellent people promoted to the point of incompetence.

    Looking elsewhere

    Project Manager (Current Employee) London, England

    ProsInteresting technology. People I work with. Travel opportunities. Worldwide exposure.
    Opportunities for transfer within the company.
    Historic company with traditional role in the Airline Industry.
    Corporate security, if not personal job security.

    ConsPolitics, Bureaucracy, Lack of information. Lack of teamwork.
    Uncertanty of job security. There have been several inexplicable departures, and the Airline industry is in tough times.
    clearly Job Perfomance is not a criteria for promotion or retention.
    There are very few staff functions, or social events where senior staff communicate with the peons.

    Advice to Senior ManagementShow a little concern for the sucess of the enterprise and the well being of the staff.
    There have been changes that have not been fully explained.
    Encouraging a sense of job satisfaction , and a focus on good customer relations would improve the work environment immensely.
