I have been working at Sam's Club

    Pros

The hours are not to bad since they close at 8:30pm most days and early on sundays.

    Cons

Management is terrible and they do not look towards people going to college as future managers. Its totally by whom ever then want or like.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees better and increase management numbers so the employees have management there to support them.

I have been working at Sam's Club part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    $ 10 an hour
Co worker are kind and helpful people
    Flexible hours
    Free Memebership
Not too hard of a work load

    Cons

Supervisors or COS which are called at Sam's Club, are not all helpful or kind. They show favoritism and it is clearly visible.

Some managers are worst. Rude, unhelpful, and moodly most of the times. Sad to say, but most managers are not trustworthy people.

Avoid the Cashier and Membership positions, which the only position expected to sell membership and credit card. And your job depends on how well you sell.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please think about using words of encouragment, not continually point out our flaws

    Having realistic expectations

I worked at Sam's Club part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Friendly co-workers who understand when you have an issue that needs resolved. Easy-going customers and familiar faces.

    Cons

Every person in management is basically related to each other. Couples as supervisors and their best friends as managers. Don't expect to advance any time soon. You will have to pick up the slack of management on a daily basis, but this happens at most companies so nothing out of the ordinary. Low starting pay that you cannot live off of. Nearly impossible to get a full-time position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring in more than half a dozen full-timers for a building that contains over 100 workers. People will focus on their work more than goofing around and focus more on being there for the long run.

I worked at Sam's Club part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The bonus was great. Pay higher than minimum. The bonus was good...if you got one. Overall a good experience.

    Cons

Micromanagement, disorganized. Pushed PLUS and credit sales way too hard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Have better bonus policies.

I have been working at Sam's Club full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company gives you many opportunities to advance your career.
Flexible schedule if you happen to be a student.
Recognition and positive feedback for good performance and additional training if needed.
    Competitive wage.

    Cons

As a manager, sometimes it's hard to create a work/life balance.
If every associate in the club doesn't work together as a team for sales and profit growth throughout the year, then a "Sams Share" bonus isn't achieved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Associates would like to see more individual recognition other than a monthly associate of the month.
Possibly bring back merit raises for an incentive.
