Current Employee – been working at SanDisk full-time for more than 7 years

ProsGood management concern for employees. Great company communications. Excellent benefits package. Reasonable time-off allowance.

ConsNothing remarkable. The company expectations of employees are reaonsable and straight-forward. Business outlook fluctuates with the economy but that is not unusual.

ProsGood company values. Company gives importance to work balance. Salary and RSUs are good. If it is a right team, the work will be really interesting.

ConsAfter few years working in a group its hard to learn any thing new or the job gets less challenging more often .
Management is not really keen in training the employees for improving their skills .
Too many changes in the organisation.
Hard to move between groups

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure the employee is happy with his or her work. That is what actually push them to move out.

ProsGrowing Company, Fast Paced, flexible working hours (though if someone sees you leaving early they will not assume you are working from home. bad perception), you get paid..

ConsNo Work-Life Balance, Limited promotion opportunity (though possible). frequent re-org and layoffs, less job security

Advice to Senior Managementpractice what you preach. find balance.

Former Employee – worked at SanDisk full-time for less than a year

Pros- You make your own hours
- Traveled to California HQ for in depth training
- No Micromangement - supervisors are based in California
- Excellent pay for an Internship program + embursed for travel expenses (gas, car insurance)
- Great Experience and helped me get an amazing job after graduation

Cons- Worked alone and out of the house: must be a self starter/motivated or you won't be succussful
- Weren't always given much direction
- No Feedback on performance until my exit interview
- One of MANY (about 50 nationwide) interns - makes it difficult to continue with the company after graduation.

Advice to Senior Managementgive a little more direction because the interns work remotely and give feedback throughout the internship, not just in the exit interview. This is a great opportunity for college students and I hope the program contunues

“stock-based compensation” refers to all forms of employee compensation that fall
within the scope of ASC 718.

ConsUnder ASC 718, companies that award their employees stock-based compensation
will recognize the fair value of those awards in their financial statements, generally
beginning on the date the awards are granted.

Milpitas, CA (US)

Current Employee – been working at SanDisk as an intern for more than a year

ProsPretty good pay for a college internship
SanDisk looks great on a resume
Lots of independence and flexibility
Ability to travel if you're a solid performer
Good likelihood of working part-time throughout school year (if you're good at the job)

ConsLack of feedback from managers
Work is very repetitive, sometimes dull and too easy
Company culture is as boring as its product
Flash memory seems more and more like a commodity
It seems like there might be a lack of entry-level jobs so I doubt I will work here after college

Advice to Senior ManagementMake the internship more fulfilling. I think most interns are overqualified for the oftentimes mundane work we do.

Former Employee – worked at SanDisk full-time for more than 3 years

ProsDriven team that really created the flash memory industry - many original players still there - who are constantly driving to achieve and maintain market leadership. Generally good work/life balance.

ConsHad a micro-management style in some areas historically. Company is still going through some growing pains following a restructured senior management, working to improve internal environment - though much shedding of older elements has taken place.

Advice to Senior ManagementArticulate to the market the balance between nimbleness and large company structure you are aiming to achieve internally
