Best place I have ever worked

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsFantastic company culture. I felt highly valued and appreciated. I learned more at this company than at any other I've ever worked at.

ConsThe company did too well - it was purchased for its patents and sales force, and the rest of the staff was let go and the office closed.

Advice to Senior ManagementBye, guys. Thanks for the awesome opportunity!

    Great place to work.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe best executive management team that I have ever had the pleasure to work under. Everyone from the CEO down seemed to understand that the value in the company were the people.

ConsSadly acquired by Salix so the culture is no more. Look for where Gerry Proehl lands next - it will be a lucky company.

    District Sales Manager

District Sales Manager (Former Employee) San Diego, CA (US)

ProsSmall company environment allows you to gain experience and exposure to many different areas of the pharmaceutical industry. If you work hard and build advocates you can be a part of many different committees i.e. sales compensation, sales training and development etc. and build your skill sets

ConsWhen times are good you can be lulled into thinking that you are a highly valued team member. Like most pharmaceutical companies there are challenges i.e. products going generic, lost court cases etc. Hard work, self sacrifice, and top performance will not save you if a patent is lost etc. There is just not enough revenue streams to endure a product miss.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore attention needs to be given to the field. Home office rules all here and the people on the front lines will usually take the brunt of any cutbacks, failed marketing plans etc. Additionally, the leader of HR and Sales Training has way to much influence over sales operations and the organization. Additionally there is a surprisingly high amount of gossip originating from the top. Because of this the home office does not have the trust of the front line employees.

ConsVery Limited Pipeline is a problem

Advice to Senior ManagementYou need to find partnerships with other companies that have permanent value to the company. Don't keep diversifying and stay a GI company.
