High Tech facility, top management is very people-oriented. Always taking care of the welfare of its employee. Work hard and have fun kind of working environment. Promotion is based on efficiency and contributions.and not working hard. Would highly recommend anyone looking for a career to give this company a top priority.

    Pros

    - Super nice people, always lend you their hands when you need.
    - Work/Life balance = excellent

    Cons

Dont have anything to complaint about.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promotion should be given to whom who is most deserved (in case that person is very well deserved), not based on number of service years. Or else, we gonna lose a lot of "full of energy" young talented persons.

Good friends, reasonable pay, stock purchase program, dental, vision, 401k.

Horrible little perks like no employee purchase plan for drives (cheaper to get from newegg or Amazon). Cheating out with HD heal plans.

I have been working at Seagate Technology full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    1) LEADERSHIP! I can't speak for every level, but I can say that my direct manager and his manager are very supportive, focusing on mentoring and building our skill set and acumen.
    2) Culture - again, this is based on department or organization, but we have a team mentality. It is truly a culture based on cooperation and collaboration. (Sales Org) This is a reflection on leadership, and the choices they have made in building a great team.
    3) Flexibility! This may roll under leadership again, but they are very accommodating, very understanding. This holds much more weight that any incremental raise, or frankly even a very large raise! I truly do enjoy what it is I do, and I always feel as if I am valued and part of something larger, greater.

    Cons

    1) Process - The way Sales must interact with collections / pricing. It is improving, but still has a long way to go. Ways to facilitate this are communication and other departments realizing that sales is driving revenue, and as a result, these departments must not just support sales, but work in conjunction with them and show a sense of urgency, pro activeness when approaching their daily routine / duties.
    2) Marketing - Channel Marketing is actually moving the needle, but the department that gets all the marketing funds, AKA Global Marketing is slow to react. When they do react, it is very REACTIONARY and not proactive. Too many politics and the aforementioned process slows down any sort of effort or momentum, if any. As a result, our growth, while evident, isn't fulfilling the potential it could.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I can only say thank you to current leadership, again, director and senior director are the only ones I can vouch for, but thank you for making this a place where people want to be, for taking the time to lead and mentor, and for standing up and supporting your team, your people, which in turn makes them want to work and fight hard for you, the team, and Seagate.

I have been working at Seagate Technology

    Pros

Good benefits, and some great people

    Cons

It's big, and the management layers are thick. Biggest company I've ever worked for, so often feel distanced from "where it happens". Dearth of women in management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look around for people to promote from within rather than recruiting so heavily outside...and make an effort to seek out well-qualified women for the management team.
